Eeek. I was camping in Wisconsin with friends, a storm kicked up trees falling, tent leaking and holding water atop. I was in my early 20's that was the final one. Hated it. I did a genuine wilderness canoe trip down the Wisconsin River when I was 15 and our Camp chaperone had a pistol under her pillow that I should have not seen her slip under there, reality check. We pitched tents on sandbars in the middle of river at night. 2 week of heck on earth at night, days were beautiful. I'm not into bathing and washing my hair in a river though. And as a Girl Scout I went twice, both times in icky weather. Never did that again. I grew up with nice hotels/resorts, this outside stuff isn't for me but I did try it multiple times and it is certainly in that never again category.
I felt like I paid my dues, we camped for 20 years, all we could afford then, I loved some of it, some not so much, by the end I was tired of fixing every meal on a campstove, and washing pots and pans.

I guess my brain doesn't operate that way, I look for medical explanations and the amount of time over the last decade I've spent in hospitals with my Dad and FIL and rehab centers from various surgeries, my Dad would be long Dead twice, once complete blockage of heart and the other gall bladder jaundice, they rolled him immediately into surgery. Both times wishy washy as I called paramedics. My FIL would not have lived another 10 years after a fall/bleeding of brain. Me I just could not leave and not check in on someone who wasn't well and was expected to be up and about with us. We also had my MIL go missing in the mist and after 3 hours we had a Silver Alert APB out on her (elderly-Amber type alert) and when the police finally found her she was in the middle of the state on the Wisconsin Border a year and half ago. No clue as to where she was but ran out of gas in middle of the road. The police ran the plate and the Silver Alert popped up. I just tend to run on the precautionary side. Guess that is just how I'm wired.

As for Scalia he was hunting with men he knew for years, one especially for over 20 years both in Mississippi and elsewhere. It is sad to see a man with such a strong mind pass. Kinda cool he was still mentally strong enough to travel and still hunt at that age. There were US Marshals there, they have training as first responders. So close yet so far away I guess. While I really disagreed with the man on many of his professional views I had a lot of respect for his thought process and his convictions. He lived life and had an amazing one. I just try to block out the hunting thing.
Not to call in the question of what was done or not done. I was watching MSNBC last night, and it was reported that the coroner didn't even see his body. Pronounced him dead over the phone. He was picked up and sent to Virginia his home place tell me if this is unusual. I've never heard of anything like this. The news was calling into question how all this came about. No more mentioned today about the circumstances.

Hmmm. On one hand, I find this interesting because of being a Business major.

On the other hand, I find this concerning for reasons having nothing to do with my trips. I'm still looking forward to my trips this summer.

It does explain things like cutting the water park hours already from 9am to 8pm down to 10am to 7pm. Or closing The Land, Imagination Pavilion at 7pm and delaying opening MouseGears until an hour after opening of parks. Keeping Kali down longer for their rehab, the puzzle pieces are coming together. Disney Loyalists will continue to go. Infrequent visitors will not bond with Disney if they have to wait in line too long for food, to check in, wait longer for transportation and parks on shorter hours seeing less at higher prices.

I comprehend what they are doing, they did somewhat similar with the My Magic Experience/Magic Band cost overruns. I do question the Disney practice of sabotaging your parks that are doing well and messing with your employees and expect everything to work out for the better. FP+ will be harder to get, ADRs will be, less staff, less hours. This is going to be interesting.

Yup, it is weird. My neighbor was found dead next door by his son. The body remained until the coroner could arrive and he was taken by the corner staff back for his exam. He was long dead. If it is closer to time of death our paramedics take the person to the ER to have them formally pronounced. So strange to me to skip steps of a doctor pronouncing visually. I've never heard of a phone in pronouncing but I am not familiar with how other states handle death and death certificates and the stamp of natural causes.

Perhaps it may vary by state? I know in MA that a doctor has to visually see the body and pronounce the death. (Not sure where the coroner fits in to all this.) Perhaps a coroner is only called for cases with unusual circumstances, such as suspicious deaths.
