Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
That brings back memories!! My mother used to buy those (I never buy frozen desserts, except for ice cream). When I was a kid, my eldest brother would comment about my mother's frozen food selections. He pointed out that they all had comforting, down-home, names to them such as Sara Lee, Mrs. Smith's, Mrs. Paul's, or Marie Callendar. Years later, when he was out living on his own, he would only buy frozen food that had a Mrs. or a nice lady's first name on the package! True story! HA!![]()

I never had a frozen dinner during my childhood, they were certainly different animals. Sauerbraten anyone? Notice the price stamped on one. A practice I haven't seen in decades.

There was a span of time when my Dad was one of many contractors building the then Sears Tower in Chicago. He took frozen meals 'cause they would 'keep' and a thermos of coffee. With the building being so tall and if they were on upper floors it took forever to get down. (you wouldn't want to know what they did when they needed to use bathroom) They'd put the dinners before lunch on some type of machinery that was hot and it would be cooked by the time they ate. I saw them in the freezer but no way would those have been served for a meal, yet I'd get a hotdog and Spaghetti-O's for lunch. Go figure.
