I'm glad that she got her duck back. I hope she doesn't hold this against you, accidents happen. So sorry for the rough flight!

No, she didn't hold it against us. We're still great friends and we'll stay with them for part of our trip again in July/August. Sadly, Yerps died last year...he was an old duck and it was his time, but it will be a bit weird to stay there with them and not having Yerps following my husband around everywhere. We have a picture of my husband lying on his stomach on the bed, and Yerps is perched on his butt. And he went swimming with the kids in their pool, too. But, now my friend has a service dog, so that will be a new adventure....especially since DS is a bit nervous around dogs. Maybe by the end of our time there he won't be!

I guess he's perched on his back in this one, not on his butt. He usually perched on hubby's behind. He followed hubby EVERYWHERE.

That's so cute. I love animals, following you around. My doggie Wiggles did the same thing. She was mama's "girl".

O carp i just fell and cut my knee, it was bleeding like crazy. It's not bad just OUCH and yucky. Should be fine by tomorrow. Glad I already got my workout in.

I'm not sure how it's affected by weather....never thought of that, but it hasn't gotten real cold here yet. We were still in the 50s or 60s this past week while you all were getting dumped on. But my hip is still hurting a bit. It's much better than it was 2 weeks ago though!

Yup. Got home about 30 minutes ago. It's cold, my allergies have returned, and I have a migraine. I'm ready to go back down south now. Good thing we're headed to WDW in about two weeks (uch to the cat's dimsay)

Hope you get rid of your migraine, quickly. Our trip to WDW is 32 days away. I'm getting super excited.

How did you do that??? Please be careful!! (I shouldn't talk....I almost ripped a fingernail off last night trying to fix the slats under our bed when the box spring slipped out of my hands and tried to take the fingernail with it)

That would be wonderful by 8 she'll be old enough to ride everything and still young enough to truly believe in all the Disney magic. BTW I did get a deathly hollows necklace for Christmas, it's already packed.

Our roads are clear, they had people standing around but not working the lines. The airport personnel they interviewed was clearly angry, as they were getting all the flack!

Well THAT'S a waste of time and money. Not very good management from the sound of it!

Both of our DDs were Girl Scouts for over a decade, combined. I was even a delegate to the council for 2 years, and registered with the Girl Scouts for campouts and other activities the whole time they were in.
I sat out (and mom did too - she was the leader of both troops) in the cold, rain (we had a tent), etc. with them at so many cookie booths over those years there is no way to count the hours.
At one point, 5 years overlapping, they each sold over 1200 boxes of cookies. Oldest DD with the most one year at just over 1500. It was crazy sometimes, but, even they remember it as good times. They went to camp "free" every year.
Likely one of the reasons they both are now so charitable and have impeccable work ethic.

I agree, they did much to teach responsibility, and working as a team. I loved my time in Scouts, and 4 H. I loved camp too.

I agree. The airport clearly said it was TSA's responsibility to manage the people and lines.

I wasn't thrilled with scouting as a kid. My son made it through one year of Tiger Cubs and he was out. My DD made it through Brownies and thought the whole system was whackadoodles. She was out. I really liked Indian Guides & Princesses better. It is a smaller organization and little of earnings going to corporate. Though they were forced to drop the Indian and are now Adventurer Guides & Princesses.

I loved Scouts, but my first love was 4 H. Camp was so much fun, we learned things, and I remember making a lamp, got to cut the wiring and all. We really did useful things, and learned a lot .

I am a Dunkin Donuts coffee drinker, sometimes I'll add a scoop of a Dark Roast of Starbucks if I am really sleepy for a bolder coffee. I like Dunkin cause it is a smooth coffee and doesn't ever bug my tummy.

That's why we like Dunkin too. I love a smooth cup of coffee, 8 o'clock bumps up the flavor too.

I learned Holiday survival too decades ago. There were many things I 'let go of' because the Holidays became overwhelming and I found myself preparing and not getting to enjoy. For a few weeks I let some housework go, I cook simpler, I tend to not watch my menu and what I am putting in my mouth for a few weeks.

I also let some traditions go. I don't send Christmas Cards any longer in mass. Usually only a dozen. I gave up cookie baking. And we stopped doing holiday portraits. Then I order real good feasts for Christmas Dinner and we all feast on something at home from one of our favorite restaurants. All in all it has made me enjoy the holidays more.

Those are all wonderful ideas. I'm going to adopt some of these ideas too!

If I could convince my husband to drive between Orlando and Wyoming, that's what I'd do for exactly that reason!!! Plus, when you drive, you get to SEE so much more...you make that part of the vacation. It's more than just the road time, it's part of the activity....stop and see a cave here, or a fort there, or a landmark, etc. So much fun and so much cheaper than flying. But hubby won't go for it, at least not with the kids.

Sympathy like. With the car we are going to KSC and maybe hit something on the way home.

I say that too. Our winter has been pretty extreme, the temperature this morning was 1 degree.
