Yep, I also really like beer. Maybe we'll just call ourselves a Bunch O'Lushes instead.

Good afternoon, everyone! Day off for me. Getting lots of housework and meal planning done. My mother is visiting on Friday for a few days, which always makes me nervous. I'm not much for house guests. But it will be nice to see her. We have some fun things planned. Got one sick kid home today and I feel so badly for him. He's as sick as a dog.

Sympathy like for your little one! It's tough to see them feel bad. :(

Thank you. I really try not to post too much about the carp going on over here, but it's gems like these that I've been dealing with constantly and I need an outlet and support. My therapist thinks I've been coping better lately, but I tell you it's a huge effort. I will be so happy for my week with DD during Christmas break! Not sure if I've posted our plans yet - we'll be spending a few days in San Francisco, a few days in Monterey Bay, and then probably one night near Hearst Castle. Can't wait!!

Sorry you're having such a awful time. Your trip sounds fabulous though. A time to get away from it all and just focus on her.

Pizza came a couple years ago for Christmas Eve. That was the one holiday my Mom cooked for and it was getting harder on her, she is too old for this now but she can't drive at night and neither can my Dad. They are far from here so going to get them and bring them back isn't an option. Pizza should be a solution. Should.

Last year she was going to order them when we were twenty minutes out. Messed up the order. Pizzas were there when we got there and she was in the dining room eating her salad alone as we all were coming in snapping the pizzas were here and we weren't so she decided to start without out us.:banghead: With the distance we travel and weather, planning food for the moment we are scheduled to arrive isn't a good thought process. Stressful. We have to go through two railheads yards in route and anything can happen. Pizza at best takes 20 minutes to be delivered. Ahhhhhhhh. Love her dearly but age is certainly taking its toll.

Tell her you will pick up the pizza on the way. Call ahead to the pizza place a little before you arrive. I agree. The less possibilities for stress the better.

I hear you. I have had some serious hardcore breakups in my life, and I guess there is no universal answer on how to cope, except of course to listen to Adele (well, that's what they all say), but the bottom line, which really is the one true thing that I've learned over the years......is that time really does heal everything. I don't know if that helps worth a damn now when everything is going down, but eventually this will all be a memory, and you will hopefully be in a better place.

Unless you have kids together. Then it is never a memory.

But speaking of Adele...
