Perhaps you have been spending too much time looking at snow. That will mess anyone's mind up. I haven't even gotten to Florence yet, but, they will be coming up in a week or so. I'm just kidding with you. I have those days quite often now.
BTW, thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying them. It is easy to go overboard and just bore the tears out of everyone.

You can't adopt @donaldtoo 's pop, because I already did that, weeks ago. The adoption is all legal binding, under under the esteemed program, Adopt-A-Pop. So, you'll have to find another pop to adopt. Who else is a pop here? Oh, I know-- @Goofyernmost is one. Bets, I don't think anyone has claimed him yet at Adopt-A-Pop; so he might be an option for you.

Winter cold kicks my arthritis into overdrive.
I recall you mentioned that last year as well. I feel bad for anyone dealing with arthritis. Wish they could find a cure for you.

Day 7 of the Adventure.... October 26
Worked our way back to the water taxi and only went a short distance when the boat pulled up to the dock and there, right on the canal, was the train station.
This was my first true train experience since I was a little kid. Most of the trains in Europe are "high speed" trains. The interior is comfortable (much more so then planes) and interesting because you can see the country side along the way.
This train travels at over 100 mph so it's hard to get a picture that isn't slightly blurry, but, you get the idea. I loved the trains. It took a little over 3.5 hours to get from Venice to Rome and it was truly enjoyable. We arrived in "Roma Termini" and got out the direction instructions to find the apartment that we rented for the next 5 days. It was only 3 blocks up and 1 block over from the Train Station/Subway Station. One half block away was a small, but, useful little store to buy food and other necessities. The apartment was quite large and had a living room with a huge table that contained a vast assortment of brochures and maps to help with navigation. The living room had a couch that turned into a bed, a flat screen TV and was quite roomy. Unfortunately the only English speaking stations were MSNBC or FOX, so not much TV was watched. There was a bedroom, a small kitchen with a small stove, dishwasher and clothes washer plus a full sized refrigerator. The owner have left us a basket of rolls and pastries and she called it a complimentary breakfast bar. We spent the rest of the day planning and figuring out what subway to take and what stop to get off at, for our paid for tour of the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and other places that we were going to be doing the next day. Sort of a down day other then the actual travel procedure.

Odd how that intuition kicks in isn't it? I thought of you twice this week, #1 with the board meeting last night and #2 I made it to Woodfield over the weekend and to my delight a Garretts Popcorn opened. Not sure if you are a fan or not but when I head home from DT-Chgo I never leave without a Chicago Mix. So happy happy me.
Is this a permanent addition to Woodfield Mall? On our way to visit the in-laws we usually drive past this mall.
We love Garrett's Popcorn. The cheese popcorn there is the best in the world. A church member was recently down in Chicago for business, and he knew how much we love Garrett's so he brought me a small cheese and my husband a buttery. Neither of us care for the caramel. I devoured mine!

Our decorations are down between December 26 and New Years Day depending on the year. I made it to almost Valentines Day the year before last before physically pulling out the Mickey and Friends off the front lawn. Nobody could see them for a while they were buried that deep in the snow. Then their hats peeked out, then their faces but that is far as the snow would melt. Finally we started digging them out and hooked the hose up to the hot water spigot and melted them off the frozen tundra.
I saw so much of them that year that I didn't put them out last year.

I remember those days, they had so much fun setting everything up. Being 5 years apart in age the DS bored with it first along with his room tree. Then DD bored with it but still put up her room tree a few more years. This year her new apartment is all decked out with a skinny 6' tree. It looks so darn cute.
I've put very little out the last few years ever since they went off to college. I have a small tree vs the 8' er in the livingroom. It didn't work with the new furniture. I put out little touches of Christmas now.
