Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Had an "old man" ;) procedure done late this morning that was actually scheduled for last Tuesday morning, but, I cancelled it 'cause that's the day pop (BTW, he's doin' great ) had his emergency surgery.
Anyway, all they found was one small polyp that is 100% non-cancerous. But, once they biopsy it, they'll be able to tell me if they want to see me again in 5 years or 10.
Also, DWifey, is having an MRI on her left knee in a few minutes, 'cause they think she may have tore something, although none of us have any clue where or how... :cyclops:
Woof. What a week we've had...!  ;)

Is it the same leg she hurt years ago?

The tap water here is great.
I drink it at home (no filter/purifier), at the office, restaurants, etc..
Then again, I drink nothin' but free iced tap water at all WDW Parks and resorts, too. :)
Can't remember the last time I bought a bottled water...

I believe the restaurant iced water is filtered. Unlike the drinking fountains. When we moved here our water was pretty yellows and orange from time to time. Never knew when. Ruined many a load of laundry. We were given phosphate laundry soap for free. All we had to do was bring in our own container to Town Hall and they'd fill her up. It took the stains out as long as they were not dried in. When my DS was a baby I ruined almost all of his clothes in one load. Not happy. Our waterbill doubled when they changed our water source. I didn't care. Between all the chemicals needed to clean bathrooms and sinks to keep them from being brown with rust stains and lost loads of laundry, in addition to bottled water for just about everything we were many $$ ahead. Maybe had I grown up with that but I grew up with Lake Michigan water so colorful water was not palatable to me.

As you probably already know, I'm a WWII history buff. And I've posted this here before, but, I can't remember if you we're here then...

Anyway, almost all of Saving Private Ryan was pretty intense, but that first half hour or so of the landing scene was on a whole other excruciating level.
Before the movie started, we had struck up a short conversation with 3 elderly couples in front of us. 5 were WWII veterans. One of the gentleman was stationed in the Pacific Theater and the 2 others were in the European Theater. One of the ladies was an Army Nurse and the other was with the Navy WAVES.
The 2 gentleman that were in Europe participated in the initial landings.
After the movie. I asked them what they thought. They said it was by far and away the closest thing they had ever seen on film to the real thing. They were a bit emotional.
We were too, and we also thanked them very much for their sacrifice and service.

I would have wanted to give them all hugs.

My mom and my brother just had the following conversation

Brother: Can we go to Bush Gardens?
Mom: Your sister can't ride anything with her hand being this bad.
Brother: Well, she can go look at the buildings in the historic area and we'll go ride rides without her.

 Well, I know where I stand (although between the car issues and the refrigerator breaking, no way can an extra trip happen right now...)

Oy. My son would have said that when he was young.
