With the cost of next year's blow out trip, I'm thinking about just giving everybody a toothpick with a cranberry on it:D
I know the feeling. With my upcoming trip basically being prepaid, I can mournfully look at my bank account balance and wonder what I was thinking. On top of that Wall Street seems to be doing everything in its power to spend my money faster then even I can. It has been a very depressing two months. I sure hope it changes soon. In the mean time if everyone would keep an eye out for any lucrative looking restaurant dumpster, so on my return, I can know where to get my next meal, would be appreciated.

A final word on my comments yesterday concerning this subject. What I was not able to convey, was the condescending tone of voice about her age, from the man in the office. It was more the way he said it, that hurt my mother's feelings.
I hope that you don't think that I was negatively commenting on your Mom's reaction. I was merely saying how I feel about it. Other's results may vary.

@Gabe1 just had to share. I called US Tree service to give me a quote to take down the tree. DH spoke to them, and explained it is on the east side of the house, over the garage. Dead ash tree, can't miss it. The next day my neighbor comes over with the quote. We were shocked by the price, $1,000, plus $100 to grind out a maple stump. What stump? Then realized, he gave us an estimate to take down a huge maple on the east side of my neighbors house, and a stump that is by it. DH calls and explains they have the right address on the paperwork, but went to the wrong house. Please, tell us what you would charge to remove the dead ash tree. Guy asks,"How do you know it's dead?". There are no leaves on the thing! It is as dead as an ash tree can be.

Just got back from work, and there was a message from my neighbor (did I mention she is an elderly widow?) Yep, back at her house again, only this time wandering her fenced in back yard. Ugh. I think I owe her an apology and baked goods, now.

Ha! You'd think he'd remember being on the property before wouldn't ya??? They just took a tree down on the property next to mine on Saturday. One Hour and the whole thing was gone, tree, stump, loaded trunk and ground the rest and they pulled away. They brought three trucks, 6 guys and after cleaned up all the grass around where the tree had been.

3800 a month? yikes!!!!

It is ridiculously expensive. It is OK if the person living there is going to take full advanage of all the facilities and offerings. They have many social things, trips, a small branch of a bank, salon, swimming pool, private bus transportation all around the area and to churches. My MIL uses nothing and doesn't eat half of her meal a days. It is a waste. They should have hired the live in for half the cost and she could have stayed in her luxury condo that was paid for. Her buy in was $125,000.00 plus $3800 per month.

Just got off the phone with my neighbor, and it gets better. He kept asking her well which tree is it, and she kept telling him it is next door. The way she described it, he literally was standing with his back to the tree we want down, and couldn't figure out why we told him ash tree, when he was looking at a maple. He got very frustrated with her, started banging his clipboard, and finally left. I think he is now out of the running.

Still alive and kicking with only the edging and capping the top off left.:angelic:
Did anyone else watch the lunar eclipse last night ?
Very cool indeed :D
Very cool, indeed! We have a field across from our house, so we kept running across the street to look up at it. Both kids realized we were the only ones out looking at it. Everyone else was too busy watching TV.

I can't believe how much I already got done today! Mount laundry is conquered, I watched last night's OUAT, Monday weights done, 4 miles already walked, breakfast cooked (sausage and peppers salad, sans sausage LOL) and eaten and best of all the first 5 days of our trip planned. I love my dh but he had to go back to work

Wow, I got tired just reading your post! :p

I think I couldn't use the company because I'd fear he'd take out her Maple tree.
