In certain situations, there are some people who get it twice a season, but those are the exceptions. Before I worked in a hospital, I went for many years without ever getting one. Since it was recommended to all staff to get the flu vaccine, I've been getting it each year now for 12 years or so. Haven't had the flu (yet). (Back during the years when I did not get the flu shot, I got the flu once--and it was pretty bad.) Anyway, any staff who opt out of the flu shot, have to wear a face mask in all patient areas, for the entire flu season.

That would be enough to make me get one. I would think wearing a mask would be uncomfortable.

I like cranberries in coarse ground mustard over a grilled portabella.

That sounds yummy! Do you use portabellas instead of beef? I've never had them, but I've heard they taste like beef.

I had a buddy in HS that had a Dodge Dart with a slant 6 in it.
Pretty engine, and that thing got up and hauled, for a six-banger...!

I think it was a good engine, but, when attached to a family size station wagon with 1960 BIG FINS, it lost a little in translation. The Dart, if I recall, was one the early versions of what we used to call a compact car before they were popular. I think my Uncle had one with the push button transmission.

I went to the farm market while hungry.. I came home with extra acorn squash, 25 pounds of peppers that have to be cut up and frozen, apples for crumb and eggs for my dh. At lest I can't get into too much trouble there.

I love having precut peppers in the freezer. Makes life easier.

Good grief. Where do you put all that stuff? Especially the part about cutting up and freezing 25 pounds of peppers--do you have one of those, separate huge freezers?

That's what I have. An upright freezer the size of a refrigerator.

I will be looking forward to your thoughts on the Food and Wine Festival, the food in particular. We will be there for the last weekend of it and it is our first time there. So much of the food looks good, I think a lot of our meals will be there.

I agree. I often have pre-cooked hamburger and chicken in my freezer too so I can make some quick meals too.

Translation: no parents, and my brother is content to stay up in his room. Except when he wants food. But other than that, basically a day to do whatever I want!

The portion sizes are exactly the same as the Flower and Garden Festival so can get pricey if you eat a lot. One person going to 4 booths and say an average of $6. So pretty much the same price as a meal.
