@MOXOMUMD , I was at the supermarket this morning and I saw boxes of pumpkin cake (like a breakfast loaf cake style) on display . . . and next to these boxes of scrumptiousness was a display of cans of cream cheese frosting. . . :cautious: :hungry: ;) :joyfull:

Guilty of the cardinal sin of shopping while hungry . . . I bought both!! :D As soon as I came home, I dug into the pumpkin cake and frosted a bit of the top with the frosting from the can. However the cake crumbled a bit while I was trying to spread on the frosting, so I decided to eat the cake with a fork, and then I spooned out globbies of yummy frosting and ate it right off the spoon! :p Oh, I love the fall !!!
That sounds delicious. Tomorrow we're making ice cream cone cupcakes for my daughter's birthday treat. (The cupcakes are actually baked in a cone.) :)

That sounds fun. We have two dances and a huge carnival every year.

Our middle school has a dance a month. $5 to get in a fundraiser. Different one each month. I hate these, so much drama, they are too young for this IMO, pre-teens and very young teens 6-8 grade. My DS would go and then they'd go order a pizza in town with friends. My DD went to exactly two and she was out. I always was a chaprone for the Student Council one 'cause DD was an officer, so I went to the dance, she stayed home.

More celebrating today...! :)
We attended the 5p mass at our church with mom and pop. They received a certificate for their 55th wedding anniversary (was actually on July 16 - yes, so 4 yrs. and 364 days after Disneyland opened ;)) along with other couples ranging from 10-65 year anniversaries.
The kicker...pop is having a stint put in Monday morning, and we ate the heck outta' fried chicken for dinner...!!! :joyfull:
And yes, that wasn't lost on anybody...! ;) :)

I misspoke there. My first car was a 1960 Plymouth Station Wagon, three on the column, slant 6... a real power house. I didn't keep it very long because it used more oil then gas. My second was a VW Beetle. I enjoyed it but it was a challenge to drive in the wind or when you met trucks on the highway you had better be prepared to correct your steering. In the winter the windows were always frosted up with one heater vent that basically burnt a hole in your right leg while the rest of you froze. If there was a significant snowfall the flat metal bottom would just ride up on the snow like a sled and you would go no place.

The only real fun I ever had with it was when I had three other guys in the car after an evening of, let's just say, overindulging in certain beverages, I drove it out on a frozen Lake Champlain and cut a number of circles while listening to a very vocal group screaming for me to get off the ice before we hit a weak spot. Good times!:in pain::jawdrop::joyfull:

EDIT: My first new car was a 1970 Buick Skylark. I loved that car. Kept it for many years. I had it when I met my wife, used it on our honeymoon, took both my kids home after they were born and many other early experiences. I thought about having it bronzed and put on the mantle as a family keepsake. It got to old to be dependable though and with two little kids and living in the country, I decided to trade it in. It had 110,000 miles on it and although that is nothing now, back then it was way past it's life expectancy.

I had a buddy in HS that had a Dodge Dart with a slant 6 in it.
Pretty engine, and that thing got up and hauled, for a six-banger...! :)

Good for Pop. And Congrat's to them.

Hope the stint goes well for Pop, my Dad has been in and out of the cardiologist the past couple weeks trying to get a handle on a few what they say is minor issues for his age. Debating the stint the Doc's are but leaning towards not cause he is 87 and it is at 40% blocked. At this age its like enjoy life. Plus you might remember 4 years or so back when the man had his quad bypass surgery. Boy, not a good patient.

Thanks, Gabe! :)
He said if they were gonna' clean him out anyway and check for more he was gonna' enjoy the next coupla' days. He's not a guy that wants to leave the earth any sooner than he has to, and will make adjustments to a point as he feels warranted, but, with the long, productive gift of life he's so thankful, and feels so blessed for at almost 83, he's also a pragmatist. :)
