Oh cool!!!! How exciting!! As long as our flights don't mess it up (we have to book flights yet, but I was told Disney won't charge for changing dates as long as the price stays the same) we will have to get together! It shouldn't change more than a day or 2 anyway, so we'd most likely still be there for a couple of the same days, even if we can't get flights on the exact days we want.
Good luck with booking your flights. April's hours are already posted so not too long before we can make ADRs

I flew to London by myself last year, but I met up with friends in the UK and we traveled together. My friend from Australia and I walked across London to see the different places where the Harry Potter movies were filmed, and of course platform 9 3/4 in Kings Cross Station, then our friend from Ireland and friends from the UK joined us for the Studio tour, then we went to Lacock to see the Harry Potter sites there (yes, we're HUGE Harry Potter fans). It was soooo much fun. I don't think I'd want to travel alone....flying alone I can handle if I HAVE to, but actual travel, I wouldn't feel safe.
Seeing you're Potter fans have you looked at maybe going over to UNI for a day or 2?

seconding this!.

I also have a huge fuzz regarding the flights.
Sometimes you cant find the proper one to reach on time early. And end with a flight arriving VERY VERY LATE.

infact.. speaking of flights..
Anyone knows what is the last bus for the magical express? we're arriving at almost 12:00 in the morning (aka midnight)

I believe ME runs 24/7, but if you arrive before 5am or after 10pm, you have to take your luggage with you to the bus.
That's what the Unofficial guide is still saying.

That isn't always the case. We pulled off spontaneous well, even with dining. We were able to get FP+ for everything but Peter on the days we wanted. Thunder was on refurbishment during the middle of our trip for 4 days. We had FP+ before the refurb and on last day it, the day it was to come back up in the morning. Due to some bad weather overnight it didn't open and we were notified to make another choice and got a FP+ for Peter. By chance we took a detour from Splash near lunchtime to look up at Thunder to see if the construction workers were still on the mountain. A high up manager of sorts came out the exit smiled at us and said shhhhh.....go start a line to enter. We walked up and the CM told us it was still closed. We told him who told us to get in line and sure enough a few minutes later on his radio the CM was told what we new. The CM escorted us to the load area. We were on the first train coming out of refurb. Better than a FP+ and we got onto Peter. While not a big fan of Peter my DD wanted to ride but was also unwilling to stand in line. Throughout our trip we added FP+ I expect what you say is very true during maximum crowd days though. On some of the attractions is the single rider option and that helps cut down on the over planning. The only attraction that was goofy both in stand bye and FP+ was the Mansion. That is a strange queue system.
it will all depends on dates..also, how lucky to ride it right after refurb!

Should be so much fun. I really like OKW its grounds remind me of the FQ and POR but the rooms are much larger. The resort is very peaceful which is what I also like about POR & FQ when I am either waking up or returning from the parks at night. I'm the kinda person that does better in a peaceful resort, as much as I like the Contemporary and their rooms it is always 'busy' in there.

I'm glad you are slipping in Universal too. Fun stuff. Where are you staying there?
in one of the hotels right infront of the park.

the doubletree by hilton.
best price vs size.

the holiday inn was almost twice the cost..and the hyatt place was full and more expensive too.

If it makes you feel better, I don't think the new Beauty and the Beast will ever achieve the greatness of the original, although based on the cast, it will still be awesome.
I think it will do fine.. I hope that they will surpass the quality of the french one that was released a few months ago.
The effects were very good, but the story was.. kinda chunky!

What progressive inkling? I hear him talk a lot about helping others. Helping the poor. Talking a lot about children in vulnerable situations. To me that isn't progressive. That is just being a good human being.
Reminds me of the joke that I read online.. How the conservatives in the US were asking the pope to dont bring his "liberal agenda".
Lets be honest.. If Jesus was alive today, he would have been blasted by the current conservatives as "too liberal, hippie and a commie" lol.
So for the eyes of some people.. Francis is very "progressive".

sadly, you cant be that spontaneous anymore.
The huge crowds + fixed fastpasses with huge lines.. means you have to meticulously plan what are a must do.. and give priorities.

Ugh. It is harder between the number of people pre-planning, and gobbling up the best fastpass times, months in advance, as well as their ADRs, etc. The crowds have also increased in the parks over the past few years, which doesn't help either.

In spite of all that, I still think there is some room for spontaneity. (Of course, this is much easier if you travel solo, versus a group.) One thing that saved my sanity during my visit to WDW were the single rider lines. I never even bothered to get any fastpass reservations at all for anything, and I still managed to ride many attractions with minimal, to moderate wait times, and have fun. :cat:
