I believe ME runs 24/7, but if you arrive before 5am or after 10pm, you have to take your luggage with you to the bus.
thats no problem. I prefer it this way.
I do not trust the Disney's luggage with my past experiences. (they lost my bags.. ALL OF THEM.. and they arrived on different times.. one extremely late at 2:00 am after 8 to 9 hours of waiting )

In 1980, Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm each took out ads wishing each other Happy Birthday.

From the imgur poster named "8bitdan" who worked at Knotts said

"I work at Knotts and I thought this was kind of cool to share. Knotts Berry Farm (est. 1920) and Disneyland (est. 1955) are only about 7 miles apart. Walter Knott assisted Walt Disney in getting Disneyland off the ground. Interesting to see ads that show a rare relationship between what would normally be considered two "competing" businesses."

sadly, you cant be that spontaneous anymore.
The huge crowds + fixed fastpasses with huge lines.. means you have to meticulously plan what are a must do.. and give priorities.

That isn't always the case. We pulled off spontaneous well, even with dining. We were able to get FP+ for everything but Peter on the days we wanted. Thunder was on refurbishment during the middle of our trip for 4 days. We had FP+ before the refurb and on last day it, the day it was to come back up in the morning. Due to some bad weather overnight it didn't open and we were notified to make another choice and got a FP+ for Peter. By chance we took a detour from Splash near lunchtime to look up at Thunder to see if the construction workers were still on the mountain. A high up manager of sorts came out the exit smiled at us and said shhhhh.....go start a line to enter. We walked up and the CM told us it was still closed. We told him who told us to get in line and sure enough a few minutes later on his radio the CM was told what we new. The CM escorted us to the load area. We were on the first train coming out of refurb. Better than a FP+ and we got onto Peter. While not a big fan of Peter my DD wanted to ride but was also unwilling to stand in line. Throughout our trip we added FP+ I expect what you say is very true during maximum crowd days though. On some of the attractions is the single rider option and that helps cut down on the over planning. The only attraction that was goofy both in stand bye and FP+ was the Mansion. That is a strange queue system.

we're going for a bit more than 9 nights. the extra days dont count as they are for flying.

We're leaving on the 30th to sleep at POR one night, then moving to the Old Key West DVC complex for 6 days at Disney.. then moving to universal for 3 days.

Should be so much fun. I really like OKW its grounds remind me of the FQ and POR but the rooms are much larger. The resort is very peaceful which is what I also like about POR & FQ when I am either waking up or returning from the parks at night. I'm the kinda person that does better in a peaceful resort, as much as I like the Contemporary and their rooms it is always 'busy' in there.

I'm glad you are slipping in Universal too. Fun stuff. Where are you staying there?

That's why I got the Premium membership. It's has eliminated all the problems I was having. Plus, I was getting a lot more viruses too. Now, hubby doesn't have to clean the computer every night!

I said that too! It was suggested to me by a premium member and it solved the problems. No regrets. Now all I need is a Premium Annual WDW pass. heehee

Reaches through the screen and *pinches* you real hard.

Sadly the magic number is still 1. We lost today. I highly question one of umps calls but whatcha going to do? Still can happen if someone looses tonight but not the same as doing it by winning yourself. Wrigleyville will be fun if they just make the playoffs any which way. We loyal fans are not choosy.

At my daughter's school, they don't do dances. Instead, 3 times a year we do Gym Jam for the middle level kids (6-8 grade). Teachers lounge has different treats--for October, they will be Halloween themed. Costume contest. Bobbing for donuts at this one. DDR in one room. Minute to Win It contests in another room. Face painting, tattoos (sorry, @MR FERRET not permanent), lots of things going on. The kids get tickets for playing the games, and they can turn them in at the end of the night for different prizes.
That sounds fun. We have two dances and a huge carnival every year.

You're right on both methods. I've done both planning and zero planning trips. (Note: of course it's easier when you go solo, because I don't have to take into account others' wishes, etc.) Although I'm fussy about airline flights and what hotel I can stay at, and at the right price, the rest of the trip I usually just go with whatever I feel like doing on any given day. (Plus, I don't really do any TS meals anymore, so wherever I eat is just walk-in.) :)

Yep, I am a fussy one too especially with airlines. Last two trips going to WDW we did well. One the weather just wouldn't let me go home. Wish they would have just rebooked me the next day and I would have gone back to the parks.
