The flickering is usually caused by:

  1. Incorrect configuration on your video card. Which gives the wrong frequency or resolution to the monitor.
  2. The monitor cable is not correctly plugged in and secured (check the back of the monitor and the cable to the graphic cards).
  3. The drivers of your video card are corrupted.. You might need to remove them and reinstall them.
  4. Your monitor might be dying.. If the issue appears randomly and not always, probably its not the monitor.
  5. Your video card might be dying. The connector might be damaged and this cannot be replaced.
You need to first see which video card you have and check the cables of your monitor.
Thanks for the advice, @Cesar R M and @StarWarsGirl95 . I was at Target, and picked up a new cable. Now, the flickering is gone. Now it is just black. If I turn the screen off and on, the display comes up for a second or two, and then gone. I did some googling and it looks like that was the end of that monitor. Got find a new one super quick so DS can keep working on his college applications.

Okay, I just did the Doctor's visit, was in the office for hours. To make a long story short. I love my Doctor, his staff in everyway is awful. I was poked four time in both arms, and both hands. No blood draw! We waited in the exam room for over thirty minutes, and no one came to take the blood. We went and asked if they had an emergency, no they just forgot about us.:mad: Now, with no blood draw and not getting any prescriptions, I have to go back next week for another attempt at blood draw! If they can't get it out of my arms or hand. I have to have it taken out of my neck. This has been upsetting and stressful. Thanks, so much for listening and letting me rant about how bad the medical system is getting! By the way they couldn't get any blood out of hubby either. But he only got poked once, after my ordeal they realized enough is enough. Sorry about this, guys...The rant is over and I'm good now. You are all great listeners. On to read better posts than mine. ;)
So sorry. What a bad experience. Hope next weeks try goes easy easy.

Ugh. Well, that stinks, but it was what I was afraid of. Always worth checking the cable, though.

How old is the computer? Is the monitor still under warranty?

I know that isn't helping your cause Betty Rose, but, if you are unhappy with it, it might be worth looking around for a new provider. Sometimes just because we are familiar with our caregiver it doesn't translate into the best available care.

I agree. @betty rose , maybe give this suggestion some thought. I also don't think it would hurt to mention to the doctor you have that this staff is somewhat disappointing. He may be so busy with his own case load, that what goes on a few doors down the hall might not even be on his radar. I don't like the way his staff treated you and think you deserve a lot better than that.

another bad ad? seriously?

Yes, Betty Rose and a number of us on the forums are having issues with the ads. This evening I haven't had a problem, but the past two days, it was really bad. I don't know what the offending ad or ads were, but it was ridiculous. (Last night I had to close out the program 4 times, due to the ads (script issues) freezing up my computer.)

Halloween is fun; you and @MR FERRET are missing out on all the crazy festivities! If nothing else, it's a night to stuff your mouth with candy! :hungry:

I think I'll move to his little island and then hop across the channel to England. And stuffing your mouth with candy can be everyday (not that I do that because then I would weigh millions of pounds). To be honest I don't really eat candy. If I bought a small bag of peanut butter cups, they would be gone within ten minutes.
