2 out of 3 isn't bad, right? By the way, love your new avatar!
Thanks. I used to change it on a fairly regular basis, but then realized that somehow I haven't changed it in a while, so I decided to go with something different. Searched "Disney Cat" and this is what came up (along with Disney characters who are cats). I thought it was cute and appropriate. :D

Okay, I just did the Doctor's visit, was in the office for hours. To make a long story short. I love my Doctor, his staff in everyway is awful. I was poked four time in both arms, and both hands. No blood draw! We waited in the exam room for over thirty minutes, and no one came to take the blood. We went and asked if they had an emergency, no they just forgot about us.:mad: Now, with no blood draw and not getting any prescriptions, I have to go back next week for another attempt at blood draw! If they can't get it out of my arms or hand. I have to have it taken out of my neck. This has been upsetting and stressful. Thanks, so much for listening and letting me rant about how bad the medical system is getting! By the way they couldn't get any blood out of hubby either. But he only got poked once, after my ordeal they realized enough is enough. Sorry about this, guys...The rant is over and I'm good now. You are all great listeners. On to read better posts than mine. ;)
That is just unacceptable!!! Is there anywhere else you can get it drawn? Here, you can either go to your doctor or to the hospital.

I did almost the same with DD. I laid out three outfits, and let her choose, for kindergarten. First grade she got to pick her own. As long as it was decent. But, when she was in Cheerleading and Dance team, in high school I wasn't so sure about the choice of their outfits. She was in a school play, Peter Pan, and the outfit looked too skimpy for me. She loved performing , and did local theater after school. So my silent objection didn't seem to harm her.
Well, my mom didn't particularly like my cheerleading skirt, but she didn't object, and we wore bloomers anyway. When it came to plays, she was always helping out anyway, so she didn't have to worry about it. The skimpiest I ever wore was when I was Daisy Mae in Li'l Abner and it was ME who didn't want to wear the skimpy stuff. My mom was very old fashione, but she LOVED musicals and so she was all about the authenticity of the costumes. I DID play a can can dancer in Pain't your Wagon when I was in 8th grade (not many female roles, and so all the singing roles went to Juniors and Seniors...I was only in jr. High) so I had to wear a pretty low-cut dress, but again, mom was surprisingly ok with it.

Ugh, sorry. I hate it when that happens. The only reason I still go to my allergist is because he is one of the best in the state. Minus a couple of his techs, his staff tends to be so rude. That, and they definitely talk down to me. Yes, I have been going there since I was 8 years old. That does not mean that I should be treated like an 8 year old when I am in fact, 20 years old. My favorite was when they were telling me something about my health insurance that I knew was completely wrong. They tried to tell me I was wrong and that I was too young to understand this. I told them that I have a Maryland State Health Insurance Producer's license and know what I'm talking about regarding my policy. They double checked and it turns out I was right. :banghead:

I feel like this on a fairly regular basis...

I feel like a pin cushion every 6 month's! It's a government recommendation to have a blood draw every 6 month's after the age of 60. Or no meds. Sis doesn't go to the Doctor, she is smarter than me. I also forgot the supply of over 60 flu shots wasn't available at the Doctor's office either. I was told to go to Walgreens for that , before our trip to Disney! Why did I spend three hours in the Doctor's office for nothing. Okay, sorry another rant!:brb::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I've let them know. They've known for weeks. They've been pretty understanding so far. Finance professor told me I can take the test in his office at a later date. Getting work for some of my other classes done early.

I love your new pic, as your avatar. I'm afraid I'm lazy about changing my avatar.

I'm usually okay with the outfits, daughter wore. But in Peter Pan, it was very skimpy and almost see through. A picture appeared in the Kansas City paper, and if people hadn't gone to the play they would have sworn she was in a see through costume, and naked!

You know, a lot has been said about the "bad" service at the V.A., but, not only have I found that to be not true, it is almost mind boggling how much better it has been since I stopped going to the high priced regular medical community. I had the same Doctor for over twenty years. He missed so many things and screwed up the ones he didn't miss. I have skin issues because he prescribed a steroid to use on a problem area which made the skin look like a crumpled newspaper. My blood pressure was somewhat under control, but, never low. After I went to the V.A., after the first visit, they changed my medication and since then it has stayed at 120/70 consistently. They diagnosed my COPD and gave me something that keeps everything working smoothly, something that the old Doctor never even considered. When I have gone I have been treated like a King, and they have been far more thorough then anyone ever suggested before. When needing a blood test, I have yet to even feel the needle going in. Sometimes the wait is a little longer then I would like, especially if I get there on a particularly busy day, but, it certainly isn't worth complaining about.

I was really worried about turning over my health care to them after hearing all the comments, but, I currently feel more confident in their hands then I think I ever had in the world of regular medical care.

I know that isn't helping your cause Betty Rose, but, if you are unhappy with it, it might be worth looking around for a new provider. Sometimes just because we are familiar with our caregiver it doesn't translate into the best available care.
