Well in my other news column day 2 of iPhone replacement, it works and I think version 9 is pretty cool but have not played with it much.
I still have yet to put in my contacts or replace my app's. Tedious and have not been in the mood, plus I really wanted to see if this iPhone was going to work. So far so good.

I miss obsessively going over and over my Disney itinerary for weeks before the trip. :arghh:

The last few trips of mine have been very spontaneous. That is really fun in itself, the adrenaline pumps, quick packing and gathering, it is a hoot but still I sometimes crave the anticipation factor.

For many years our long trips of a couple weeks were planned in April and generally were in September or October, long before mymagic. We'd quiz the kids on how many more days or as it got closer how many hours and then how many more minutes. We'd spend our Saturday night at my favorite pizza place and during the planning phase we'd bring along our Birnbaum book 'cause back in the late 80's and 90's expansion was rapid and with God speed. Always something or somethings majorly new to get excited about. We'd have our kids pick the first park (always the MK back then) and their first attractions, they'd get to pick. And back ups at Epcot in case of rain. Those days Future World was vibrant.

So while spontaneous is exciting planning can be magical too.

A week later this photo is still making me pleased with humanity. Many have a tainted view of Chicago and Chicagoan's but many have amazing souls.

Seeing this today brought tears to my eyes! Compassion has NOT gone out of style.

Today I made a quick stop at McDonald's after work. As I waited in line to order, an elderly handicapped gentleman wheeled himself over to the cashier in front of me. From what I perceived, the gentleman may have had a case of quadriplegia, the same medical condition my uncle has.

The man politely tried to ask the cashier something and it took him a few tries before either of us could understand he was saying "Help me please". Neither of us knew what help he needed, and the cashier suggested a few things before he figured out the gentleman needed help cutting and eating his meal.

To be honest, I thought the cashier wasn't going to help, especially during rush hour in downtown Chicago, but to my shock, he shut down his register and disappeared from view....

Not to get away from helping him, but to wash his hands and put gloves on! I had to stick around and see how this would play out, especially since it hit me so close to home with my own uncle.

The cashier came out from the kitchen, sat down, and began cutting the man's meal and helped him eat.

At that point, the tears started to gather in my eyes. My heart was so appreciative for what he did. I couldn't contain my emotions in the crowded restaurant.

This employee, who put everything on hold for this man, went above and beyond his responsibilties to help this handicapped customer out. That was the kindest and most humble thing I had ever seen.

How many shares and likes can Kenny the cashier get for his awesome service for those in need?

My Cubbie Bears did far better than I anticipated this year. Magic number is 2 for a wild card. I'll take it. When it has been over a 100 years....well you celebrate achievement, any achievement. Now lets see how well DaBears can do without our QB. Better I pray.

Okay, I just did the Doctor's visit, was in the office for hours. To make a long story short. I love my Doctor, his staff in everyway is awful. I was poked four time in both arms, and both hands. No blood draw! We waited in the exam room for over thirty minutes, and no one came to take the blood. We went and asked if they had an emergency, no they just forgot about us.:mad: Now, with no blood draw and not getting any prescriptions, I have to go back next week for another attempt at blood draw! If they can't get it out of my arms or hand. I have to have it taken out of my neck. This has been upsetting and stressful. Thanks, so much for listening and letting me rant about how bad the medical system is getting! By the way they couldn't get any blood out of hubby either. But he only got poked once, after my ordeal they realized enough is enough. Sorry about this, guys...The rant is over and I'm good now. You are all great listeners. On to read better posts than mine. ;)
I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you considered getting a script for the blood draw and going to an independent lab?

Happy clean sheets day! My dining room starts to get put back together today! FINALLY! I swear it took twice the time with my dh helping:cautious: He goes back to work on Monday which is good because I now need a vacation. It's also football night for my ds, he going to watch the game with his bestest bud (since kindergarten) so that means he's going to be extra clean tonight, he's already got his outfit picked out and his money is put aside so they can get matching hats. They think they are old enough to watch the game without at least one parent staying with them, I'm thinking NO! At least it won't be me as I'm planning on getting to bed early. Have a magical day and celebrate less than 24 hours until the weekend!
