I understand that dilemma, I knew it was time for me to stop driving. I couldn't hear fire trucks coming up on my left side. I didn't want to be the person on the road to cause an accident. So I quit. Hubby and I thought about our move 20 years ago. We are walking distance from a pharmacy, a grocery store, library, Target, and hospital. The bus came after we moved here. I want to stay because of the conveniences. The house is hard to keep up. We are now downsizing every room, and plan to shut off a couple bedrooms if need be. Our area also has a law that when you reach 65 and have been in your home over 10 years, you get half off of property taxes. That's incentive enough to stay put. I would love something much smaller, but we have really nice neighbors and a secure neighborhood . The police go by our house almost daily, and sometimes twice a day. They know us and wave. Oh, I forgot....we planned ahead in our 40's because my Mom and his Dad both had ahlzheimer's. This post is not for sympathy, but many people on here will face the same situation. This is how we are dealing with our possible future. If this post helps just one person, I will be so privileged to share . Also, thanks for being the best people around. xoxo to all of you

Thank you for sharing that. My dad passed away from Alzheimer's. Posts like yours help to educate others.

No, not a new trend. The house we live in actually belongs to my mom, so you'd think he'd move out, but he can't afford to. He actually expected me to find him a new place to live, in order for him to continue taking care of our daughter. I definitely don't make that much money, so he's clearly delusional!

Oh, I totally knew you weren't bagging on therapy - I agree being able to vent and mull things over with friends and family can be just as good. I just need help making sure I don't go off the deep end. I never understood until now how some people can simply snap. Now I know! :p

Prayers to you, and hope that everything works out well in the future.

Good luck with the therapist. It isn't any fun living with a lot of negativity. When my mom passed away a few years ago, I had some issues with my dad that has lead to a lot of negativity on my end. I am the type of person to bottle up feelings and let them fester. Anyway, long story short, when I finally decided not to bottle it up it was nice to release it and start feeling more positive. What is tough is when those negative feelings pop in from time to time. I had thought about going to a therapist as well, I decided to try a solo WDW trip, it cleared my head and I found my positive path. I think it helped me a lot.

WDW cures all !! :joyfull:

Happy farm market Saturday, one of my favorite days of the week. Another very busy day here, farm market, library, get tire for dh's bike. Seeing we all have errands to run in the same general direction it makes sense to all go together. My boys are not going to be thrilled at the prospect of stopping at a store to get me another couple of long sleeved shirts. I found 2 yesterday but I want 2 more and the place I went yesterday didn't have the other colors I wanted in my size. Oh well at least I won't have to take time to try anything on and I can take one last look around the mall to see if there's and summer left-overs for my dh. Then I get to go to Wegman's, love that store they always have lots of dairy free cheese and gluten-free goodies. That and they have the cheapest organic soy milk in the area, my dh will more than blow the savings over at the cheese countero_O. Hoping it will be warm enough for the pool when I get home. If it is I'll ketchup tomorrow xoxo

Glad that Wegmans works for you, and has everything you like.

We had a Wegmans open up here about a year ago. There was all this hype about it for the months leading up to the opening. So I finally went there a few months ago, just to check it out. Just my opinion, but I did not like it at all. It was very confusing and set up like some sort of warehouse. (They also built a parking garage attached to the building. Um . . . not a fan of a parking garage, just to get weekly groceries??!! :jawdrop: ) Parking garages are o.k. for big malls, not the weekly grocery run. No thanks.

The prices were NOT low, as they supposedly were famous for . . . I could do much better, price-wise, at 2 out of the 5, local supermarkets in the area. Wegmans did have a few different food options, and that was o.k. Still, my overall rating of the store was a C -.

There are five different supermaket chains, all convenient to me. (Market Basket, which is my favorite; Roche Brothers Markets, my 2nd favorite; both of those chains are family owned by the way.) Then, we have Stop & Shop, Whole Foods, and Wegmans.) I'd put Wegmans on the bottom of that list. (One of the women at work agreed, and she had tried some of their prepared foods to go, items. Wasn't impressed at all with the food.)

So, I just don't get all the hype over this Wegmans chain . . .

Yep, she's in 2nd grade now, so it's not like he's caring for her full time 24/7, but hours-wise it is more than me. My lawyer finally spoke with his lawyer the other day and said they're going to send a settlement proposal next week, so we'll see what he's asking for.

Basically, there isn't any reason why we can't have joint custody, so for him to not agree makes absolutely no sense to me. I originally said that it didn't have to be a 50/50 split in regard to how much time we each spend with our daughter, as long as it's joint custody, and he still refused. It's like talking to a wall...
Sorry for your situation. I hope the lawyers can resolve your issues.
