We have power surges all the time, but we have a surge protector. Sorry to ask so many questions, but I'm relaying your info to hubby, who wants to do the computer things, and " help" me.
Surge protectors only protect you from power going up, not from brownouts (power down).
Which can equally damage your computer.
hence why I always have at least a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) of at least 800VA to let you shut down the computer safely.

Also, a computer with a cheap brand of power supply is almost at risk regardless of how well protected it is with UPS or Surge protectors.

I'm up for the challenge! When I was younger, and at a restaurant with friends, I was always the one to ask "are you going to finish eating that"? I had a bottomless pit for a stomach. Plus, I'm lightning quick with a fork. :D

Yep, that used to be me too. Not so much anymore.
Although, all the leftovers go into one or two to go boxes, and I have a late night snack, and maybe even some lunch for the next day, depending on how many leftovers there are. :hungry: ;)

Ha ha ha . . . great question! I was wondering that myself! Don't you wish we also had a fun teacher like @ajrwdwgirl when we were in school?!

I actually had two very fun-cool science teachers in junior high in 7th grade in No Cal, Mr. Briscoe and Mrs. Baker. It was a large class and they were co-teachers.
And, here in Texas, my sophomore year HS biology teacher, Mr. Paul, was a hoot-and-a-half, as well...! :)

Tomorrow is gonna' be a bit of a jacked up Half-day Friday.
I've got a 10a Dr. appt. even further north of home, so since the office is so far south, I won't head that way 'til afterwards.
Stayed late at the office tonight, so hopefully I won't hafta' stay past 3p or 4p tomorrow to meet my design deadline.

Anyway gang, I'm out for now...
The sweetest of Disney dreams to one and all...!
See y'alllllll...!!! :)

Thank you. That's very nice of you to say. My outlook on life is that it's too short; and we can either fall into a negative mindset, or we can look for the positives. There's a lot of negative energy in the world now, and none of us are immune to that. But it's how we deal with it, that determines our outlook.

I totally agree with your outlook. I wish I could be more positive at this time, but it's difficult when there's so much negative energy in my own household right now. We still have to wait until the end of the year before we can finalize the divorce and live separately (assuming we can agree to a settlement without going to court). :banghead:

But, I have to say that chatting with all of you on this thread has really helped keep me distracted and feel some semblance of normalcy throughout this process. Plus, it's nice to have a place where I don't feel like I'm being judged or criticized. So thank you! :inlove:

You know, I have no idea why....except I learned he was in another wreck and tried to get money out of another driver. I think it's his MO. Some people just sue to be suing, to see if the insurance company will pay. In this case, we are a no fault state, and we both happened to have the same insurance company that was willing to pay for two new cars (with depreciation) . And not have court costs , except traffic court. I'm not a strong person, and was terrified thinking about a real "trial", so I sucked it up and let it go. (sorry for the Elsa reference)

Ouch, I'm so sorry you had to go through the accident plus the lawsuit! Yes, unfortunately anyone can sue anyone for anything, no matter how stupid their case is. Such a huge waste of our legal system's time, effort, and resources. :grumpy: :greedy: :banghead:

Yes, I was awake. The fireman and medic told hubby to get away from the car, as it might blow up. I went into shock at that point, but being placed on the gurney and riding in the ambulance was painful. The strange thing about this was, I kept having a thought about getting hit in the side of the car, the week before. Self fulfilling prophecy? I don't know.

No, more like a premonition. Not surprising, as you mentioned in a previous post your spiritual connections with family members. I think you may have "the gift". :cat:
