Cell phone.
Dude rear ended me, I took pics of the cars, the damage, his licence plate ... and THEN we moved out of the way. It took all of 30 seconds.

Once we'd pulled into the bank parking lot, I took photos of his driver's licence, ownership, and insurance slip. (And then, because he didn't know how to work his camera, I took pics of all my info, as well as the damage pics, and texted them to him right there in the parking lot.)
great minds...

Were you conscious when they were using the jaws of life? There was a fatal accident here yesterday. An 18 and a 19 year old. I think they must have been going too fast, but they got the car wrapped around a tree and both had to be cut out of the car and both died in the night. There were ambulances, fire trucks, and eventually a helicopter that life flighted one of them to a hospital further away and all of us picking up our kids from school thought there must be some sort of training drill going on for emergency services, but I came home and looked it up and it was not a drill. So so sad.
Yes, I was awake. The fireman and medic told hubby to get away from the car, as it might blow up. I went into shock at that point, but being placed on the gurney and riding in the ambulance was painful. The strange thing about this was, I kept having a thought about getting hit in the side of the car, the week before. Self fulfilling prophecy? I don't know.

My best bet is to reinstall windows and see how it behaves.
And I mean a REAL clean install, not an upgrade.

I cant say much unless im touching the computer and see how it behaves.
But if its throwing blue screens of death or random errors.. It might be hardware related (the most usual culprits are faulty power supply or damaged memory modules).
We have power surges all the time, but we have a surge protector. Sorry to ask so many questions, but I'm relaying your info to hubby, who wants to do the computer things, and " help" me.

Oh, I don't know, I think they are kind of fun and exercise my gray matter. The secret is to just not take them seriously and express your own feelings no matter what they think about it. I always feel that if they knew that much they would be way to rich to be spending bucket loads of time on a Disney Chat Board. If someone treats you and others with respect, then you do likewise, if they don't then there is no reason to care about what they think.
Good post. :)

Thanks for all your help, I may have to limp along until hubby re installs windows. I appreciate all your expertise!

I'll walk in drizzle or light showers, I've even been known to go out and walk in light snow flurries, but the weather person is calling for some nasty thunderstorms today.:( I did get out around my lake once but that may be it outside for today as the sky just darkened.

Don't get me wrong I severely dislike snow, but there is something fun about walking outside in a light snow. It feels kind of magical, like walking in a snowglobe.

Thanks Figgy. Feeling much worse today, but that's normal. Trying to rest up; I've got the weekend for homework. :)

It just means that your muscles are starting to relax from the trauma. A natural reaction to trauma is to tighten up to shield yourself from pain, but once you are home and you start to relax, you also start feeling achy. My guess is that this will pass for you in a few days. :cat:

Hubby was driving and I was in the passenger side, a guy flew through the light (he was on drugs, legal...for back pain) to make a long story short, he broadsided us on the passenger's side. I had to be cut out of the car (it's called the jaws of life out here), and sent to ER. My collar bone on my right side is now near my neck , and I have pain. Doctor's tried to put it in place with no success. He sued us. And lost, but what an ordeal. I don't like to get in a car any more. People are driving on drugs because we have the "legal" State ones. I make jokes on occasion about the legal drugs. It's how I cope. I've always said laughing is better than crying.

What an awful story. Sad to hear you went through all that. I'm also skittish in cars because of the buffoons on the road now, that can't fathom paying attention to their driving, instead of texting, drinking, or worse.

I hope you're right. My concern in that because my back was already injured from the last accident I was in that I screwed it up again. Going to my primary care doctor for a follow up next week.
