We had many skunks in Kansas. I have never smelled a skunk in Colorado. Maybe they don't like the high altitude.

We must have y'alls share down here in Texas... ;) :)

Yup. Guy hit me when I was waiting to turn, got out of his car, said "Oh there's no damage" and I told him I wanted his information anyway. We had to get out of the flow of traffic, but instead of pulling over, he fled. Had to call 911, and since I was in pain, the officer called a medic, who told me that the ER was recommended.

I can't win lately.
So sorry to hear that but word of advice--never ever move your car until info is exchanged. If you find the police need to be called and have moved from where it happened, it becomes a he said/she said situation. Learned that the hard way. Take care of yourself.

So sorry.

I've been in 3 accidents and all three time I was rear ended. First one was nasty as the guy was in another world and hit me full force.
All three while sitting still at a red light.
Hubby was driving and I was in the passenger side, a guy flew through the light (he was on drugs, legal...for back pain) to make a long story short, he broadsided us on the passenger's side. I had to be cut out of the car (it's called the jaws of life out here), and sent to ER. My collar bone on my right side is now near my neck , and I have pain. Doctor's tried to put it in place with no success. He sued us. And lost, but what an ordeal. I don't like to get in a car any more. People are driving on drugs because we have the "legal" State ones. I make jokes on occasion about the legal drugs. It's how I cope. I've always said laughing is better than crying.

They told us differently in drivers ed. You have to move your vehicle to get it out of the flow of traffic if possible or else risk getting a ticket. What I should have done and didn't think to because I had just sustained a concussion was get the plate number and then pull over. It really wasn't safe to get the information there.

Um, aren't shrimp bottom feeders as well? At least according to Wikipedia...
It is my belief that all aquatic animals are "bottom feeders" in one form or the other. It's what they eat from the bottom that makes a difference. When you think about it, how many fishermen bring home a big ole catch of perch, etc. that they caught when the fish attempted to feed on worms.

A step beyond that, does anyone consider what is used to fertilize vegetables that we eat. Sure we wash off the outside, but what about what makes up their structure? As a culture it seems like we tend to overthink everything all the while intentionally ignoring the bigger picture. Want to really gross yourselves out, think about what it is possible that is mixed in with the food that cows, pigs and chickens eat to sustain their lives. So the moral of the story is what possible difference is there between a catfish and any other animal that we consume.

Wait... I'm confused, why would he have sued you? Actually that applies to either the other driver or the Doctor!

With a concussion, you can't think and your head hurts like the dickens, you did the best thing...get out of traffic, so many people have been injured or killed by staying in flowing traffic. Again, I'm thinking about you. Don't go back to school too quickly, as it could impair your recovery. xoxo to you

Why did he try to sue you? I almost got hit Monday night coming home from work when someone ran a red light. I don't have a driver's license here, so I go everywhere by bike and I was in the bike lane and came up to a deserted intersection, the bike light turned green and I started, but a guy came from way down the street and blew through the light and I had to slam on my brakes or I'd have been under his car. I really hate traffic. I never liked driving. I think I was the only 16 year old who didn't want a drivers licence. My mom made me get one, but I never liked driving.

I think he was wanting someone to pay for his back injury due to another accident he had with another person in another case. We both had the same insurance company, so we went to traffic court and we incurred no fine, no guilt, and Allstate was more than happy to replace our car and his. Case closed. I could have sued for my life long injury, but I felt sorry for him, he had a long term back injury that was causing him a lot of pain. I was angry he sued. But, I think in the long run, I made the right decision, because I truly believe in "you get what you sow". I'm leaving the final verdict to someone with much more wisdom than I. I did have a minister come to the car and was willing to testify as to what happened. I just don't have the stamina to testify in a "real" court, traffic court was enough.

You know, I have no idea why....except I learned he was in another wreck and tried to get money out of another driver. I think it's his MO. Some people just sue to be suing, to see if the insurance company will pay. In this case, we are a no fault state, and we both happened to have the same insurance company that was willing to pay for two new cars (with depreciation) . And not have court costs , except traffic court. I'm not a strong person, and was terrified thinking about a real "trial", so I sucked it up and let it go. (sorry for the Elsa reference)

Were you conscious when they were using the jaws of life? There was a fatal accident here yesterday. An 18 and a 19 year old. I think they must have been going too fast, but they got the car wrapped around a tree and both had to be cut out of the car and both died in the night. There were ambulances, fire trucks, and eventually a helicopter that life flighted one of them to a hospital further away and all of us picking up our kids from school thought there must be some sort of training drill going on for emergency services, but I came home and looked it up and it was not a drill. So so sad.

Cell phone.
Dude rear ended me, I took pics of the cars, the damage, his licence plate ... and THEN we moved out of the way. It took all of 30 seconds.

Once we'd pulled into the bank parking lot, I took photos of his driver's licence, ownership, and insurance slip. (And then, because he didn't know how to work his camera, I took pics of all my info, as well as the damage pics, and texted them to him right there in the parking lot.)
