My mom is turning 50 in January.

I'm still not sure how she feels about it. She says she feels old when my brother or I have a birthday. I guess it also helps that my dad will be 56 in February.
That's normal. After a certain age I stopped even thinking about how old I actually was in the terms of old or not. However, when I went to my Daughters 40th birthday all of a sudden I really felt old. When I see my girls as grownup, mothers and business women, all I can do is wonder how we got there this quickly. Just a few weeks ago they were sitting on my lap watching Sesame Street.

My grandkids don't affect me yet, but, I'm sure they will if I remain lucky enough to hang around to see it.

My mom made a lemon meringue pie once and thought the salt said tablespoons instead of teaspoons. Nasty!
As for coffee, I don't drink it and my husband really either, but it's expected that it will be served here when someone comes to your home. So, we do have a coffee machine and I watched my MIL make it and wrote it down and taped it too the front of the machine, but somehow, I don't know how, but the next time we made coffee, we followed the directions I wrote down and the amount of coffee was DOUBLE what it should have been and no one could drink it.

DWifey and I are not regular coffee drinkers either. Can't even remember the last time DWifey had some, and I have a very rare occasional cup or two at the office, where we have a built-in Miele. :)

Definitely nothing fancy for us. We're not real fancy folk, especially with the kids. One year, hubby got a gift card for this really fancy restaurant as a bonus from work. It was the kind of place where you can't pronounce half the things on the menu and they came and brushed bread crumbs from the table in between courses, etc. The food was excellent, but we felt SO out of place there. It was a nice experience to have one time, but neither of us mind if we never have another.

I hate it at restaurants when they brush the crumbs off the table. It is usually in front of me where all the crumbs are! So if we are somewhere nice where that might happen I try to beat them too it before they can see my crumbs, or I push them toward my husband's side of the table!

Well, either in park or easy access (ie not by bus, but in one of the resorts that is connected by monorail or within walking distance). Doesn't necessarily have to be a buffet.
EPFW--Garden Grill
EPWS--San Angel Inn
DHS--50s Prime Time Cafe
MK--The Plaza
AK--Tusker House
Monorail Resort--1900 Park Fare but I personally would use the double TS credit and do HoopDeDoo Revue
Non-monorail resort--Cape May Cafe
