Whew....caught up. We had a family BBQ today with all the cousins and everyone and more people showed up than had RSVPd so we had about 80 people and only one grill. I finally gave up because it took so long to find a place on the grill to put anything down. But it was nice to see the family...man everyone's kids have grown sooooo much!

@StarWarsGirl95, how's your step-grandfather now that he's home? Does he have to have PT?

hey! Manly man represent here.. do not insult us! :hilarious:

Oh, I'd never insult a manly man; I'd only suggest that part of his brain might occasionally be shut down for repairs. :p :joyfull:

Oh, god no... why would I want to be that deformed?

That reminds me of an incident yesterday. I was walking out of the local mall and a guy I had never seen before, about my age, maybe a few years younger, stopped me and said... "I'm sorry to stare, but, you look just like my father! He's dead now, but, you are an image of him." First of all, I hadn't realized that he was staring, so thanks for that information, but, just exactly how does one reply to that kind of statement? All I could think to say was... Nope, not him, but, he obviously was a very good looking man.

Later I thought of another which was... What a coincidence, I am told that I look a lot like my Father... could we be brothers?

:joyfull:

Another thing to be thankful for is that you're not dead, like that guy's father, who was a "dead ringer" ( :hilarious: :hilarious: ) for you?!! :D

you could have said "damn.. you found me!!!.. I have to fake another death scene!, tell my banker I'm still gone!"

you could also go for the Zombie or Jesus techniques.

" I am your father, I was just bewitched by a Voodoo Queen and forced to roam the alive world for eternity"

"Of course I am, I just resurrected on the third day..No way im going to let your mother marry that dbag neighbour!"

Our original flight was supposed to be in Fredericksburg over the Memorial Day holiday, but, that's when we had all the rain and devastating floods. It was moved to Kerrville instead because of an air show in Fredericksburg this weekend.
Anyway, after the flight we headed to Fredericksburg to get some lunch and piddle around...

Lunch at...

Chicken fried steak... :hungry:

We didn't do the National Museum of the Pacific War this time (Fredericksburg is Admiral Chester W. Nimitz' hometown), but,
we did stop into the gift shop and walk by the old Nimitz Hotel (now part of the museum)... :)

He's actually not home quite yet. I spoke to my grandmother today, and she said he's doing excellent, but they need to keep him for a few more days in the hospital, then he'll be transferred to a rehab facility for a week or so, possibly longer. She said he can stand, but his blood pressure dropped when he did, so they're keeping him until that no longer happens. He's quite a character. My grandmother found him doing leg lifts and she said, "Doesn't that hurt?" and he said, "Yeah, a little" and continued doing them. But he's doing well. Thank you for asking. :)

Not gonna lie. 40 was hard.
When I woke up on the morning of August 15, 2007, I was quite shocked that the world had not, in fact, ended. :hilarious:

The prospect of 50 doesn't bother me at all.
My mom is turning 50 in January.

I'm still not sure how she feels about it. She says she feels old when my brother or I have a birthday. I guess it also helps that my dad will be 56 in February.
