Decided that I wanted to look into online banking. As with many decisions, I wanted my parents' thoughts. Had the following conversation with my mother:
Me: Why doesn't Dad use online banking.
Mom: Oh, he's old.
Me: Any reason why I shouldn't do it?
Mom: Nope, go ahead

Then Dad came home later:
Me: Why don't you use online banking?
Dad: Why do you think I don't use it?
Me: You're old?
Dad: That's right.

Well, I thought there was more of a reason behind it than that...but okay.:hilarious:
I'll bet that I am way older then he is and I embrace the hell out of it. Go back and tell him to come up with a better excuse.:D

Yep, I think that will be my go-to response to stuff I don't want to do soon enough. Makes it much easier than having to come up with an actual rational reason. :)

Ally Bank is supposed to be good - I have a CD account with them, so I don't know how convenient a checking/savings account is in regard to making deposits, though. But they get good reviews and offer one of the highest interest rates.

Sorry so late to answer but she had a good first week. She likes her teacher and one of best friends and TWO of her cousins (twins) are also in her class. Her teacher has an incentive game where students earn daily points for things like turning in homework, being quiet in class, etc. They can then spend their points in the "class store" once a week or save them up. Her teacher has a small cubicle in her room and by drawing names each student gets the chance to shop by themselves as the teacher's aide plays shopkeeper.

I give her teacher a lot of credit because she pays for the goods out of her own pocket. There are a lot of assorted small things like sticker packs, decorated pencils, and shaped erasers to medium things like hair accessories, bracelets, mini sport balls, Hot Wheels and LOTS of books. There are three "big" items a $5 Taco Bell or McD's gift card or "Be The Teacher Day" where you get to sit at the teacher's desk and she has to sit in yours--that's what my daughter is saving for. :)

Oh, this is so pleasant to read! I'm so happy that she has such a nice teacher. (I know the previous one was a bit of a clunker, so this is great that she's in a better class now.) I like the little incentives that the teacher does for the children; I think that's cute!

I actually don't mind the new fast pass system. I used the paper fast passes again in Paris in in California this summer and I missed the FP+ of Florida. With the paper fast passes we were sometimes criss crossing the park and trying to time it correctly so our fast pass times would work out. The thing about FP+ is yes we were planning a lot in advance but then we knew the plan for the day and had our rides that we really wanted a fast pass for planned out and in a way made it more relaxing as we weren't rushing around to get the passes and then back tracking. Does that make any sense?

I think it makes perfect sense for the style of planning that you enjoy. It works out well for people like you and your hubby. For me, I just want spontaneity for my vacation, so I miss the "day of" fast pass machines. Guess I"ll have to go to Paris for my paper fast passes . . . :(

OR California. I do miss a little of the spontaneity too. Many times before FP+ hubby and I would just to the park of whichever bus turned up first, that was fun.I suppose we could still do this but the FP+ makes it a little more difficult for me.

I will have to keep them in mind for the future. Right now, I've got Suntrust. I've actually had them since elementary school. My parents have had them since I got my original savings account (through the school at the time; it was super convenient). No problems whatsoever. What's great about them for now is that since I'm a student, the minimum balance in my checking and savings account is really low (checking is $1) and there's no fee for the checking. Sometimes being a student is nice. And I like our local branch. I walk in there and ask a bunch of questions because I know very little about banking at this point, yet they still treat me like an actual adult.
The bank I have allows you pay bills through them. Though I'm not sure how. I only use online banking to transfer money.
Mine does too. I played around with it a bit today. Seems like it will be very convenient. I like the control that online banking gives me. And the fact that it means I don't have to talk on the phone as much. Or lose pieces of paper, which I tend to do.

I don't think that was what happened. I was a very protective Mom and every once in a while a kid breaks away from ya. On a ship as crowded as those decks are when the ship leaves port it is difficult to find a little squirt in the sea of tall people. Disney put lifeguards in place after the young boy broke away from his folks and they immediately tried to find him and notified staff. The child lived but has many issues as a result. International Maritime Law is an odd holdover of lack of responsibility for just about any responsibility while out at sea. More sail at your own risk, little legal responsibility. One Cruise Line has always had lifeguards, Disney finally followed suit. It has always bothered me that Disney being a family orientated Cruise line never had lifeguards only deck attendants. If it was from guest pressure, marketing or legal I'm glad they finally posted lifeguards. While lifeguards are not baby sitters when something does go wrong at least they are properly trained first responders something that little tyke could have used. Disney never announced the addition of lifeguards. One sailing they were poof just there.
Well, not everyone is as protective as you.
In this case, I remember the kid actually left alone for more than a hour before almost drowning in the adults pool area.

Yeah, the stage at the Chinese Theater is just a PR nightmare. Remove Hat obstruct the view with a cheap stage.

They have been restoring that Theater so nicely and yet blow the imagineering again with the sticking that stage before it. As clever as Disney's Imagineering is at times I have to wonder what the heck they are thinking at times.
CUT COSTS lol
