I'm sure they're the type of people who turned burger flipping into a career or at least one can hope!
Honestly you shouldn't look down your nose at people who flip burgers for a living. They're not all uneducated dumb***es. Being in the restaurant (non-fast food) business for thirty years I've had the opportunity to bring former "burger flippers" on as line cooks, etc., and they've been some of the best employees we had. Not everyone is dealt the best hand in life but you gotta play with the cards you're given, especially if someone is trying to support a family.

The brisket hubby smoked for dinner.

Wow, that looks pretty darn good! :hungry:
If it were me, I would have trimmed off a bit more of the surface fat before seasoning. Brisket usually has plenty of fat in parts of the cut. Without the surface fat the smoke ring would go deeper into the meat. The bark looks great! :hungry:
Sorry if that sounded a bit smoked/BBQ'd brisket snobbish... ;)
Good job...! :)

Good for you. You're a good dad. :)

I think your example illustrates two issues: 1. kids are embarrassed to come to their parents or do not want their parents to intervene and 2. with technology, there is no escaping the problem. Back in the day, you left school and the bullying stopped. Now, kids can be bullied in their own bedrooms thanks to technology. One of the pitfalls of technology: people often say online what they would never dare say to your face.

Thank you.
It's definitely different these days.
After I first read the text from that little maggot, I was so p****d I could barely see straight. But, I calmed down pretty quickly knowing I had his text as evidence against his sorry little a$$, and worded my response very carefully.
So many sad, sick people in the world.

Decided that I wanted to look into online banking. As with many decisions, I wanted my parents' thoughts. Had the following conversation with my mother:
Me: Why doesn't Dad use online banking.
Mom: Oh, he's old.
Me: Any reason why I shouldn't do it?
Mom: Nope, go ahead

Then Dad came home later:
Me: Why don't you use online banking?
Dad: Why do you think I don't use it?
Me: You're old?
Dad: That's right.

Well, I thought there was more of a reason behind it than that...but okay.:hilarious:

:hilarious:
Nope, sometimes things are just that generationally simple...!!! :joyfull: ;) :)

We have a possible wedding in Portugal to attend 2017 and maybe a vow renewal for us (13 years).2018 may be an Alaskan cruise depending on the one next year and then maybe possibly back to WDW in 2019 . . .:angelic:
better enjoy those Fjords, Glaciers and inlets before they disappear!

ps, the cruise to Alaska is definitively a fantastic experience ( I did it last year )

I don't think it's so much looking down at that profession (or the people who are actually in it), but more that bullies who thought they were hot stuff would have to work hard for a living and not have everything handed to them on a silver platter.

I can totally relate to how you felt! I don't know if I'd be able to calm down that quickly, though. I'd probably have to kick a few punching bags first. ;)

We finally got our copy of the Unofficial Guide to Disney and my dh couldn't believe all the changes to the FP system and he's not liking them. What should I tell him to calm him down?

What has his shorts in a knot? or has he not been to the World since the whole FP+ magic band implementation?

I'm not over the top excited about a lot of the system, so not comfortable with the tracking of guests with the MB but I'm kinda went with the attitude of I have zero control over this other than opting out of Disney so embrace I did.

I loathe bullying. My son gets bullied, too, but a lot of it is verbal rather than physical. I don't know what to do to help him with the bullying as I don't want him answering taunts with his fists. I've thought about some sort of martial arts, but I'm afraid that won't keep the kids from calling him names.
Actually, a real confrontation is the only thing that stops a consummate Bully.
The myth of " if you ignore him they go away" is BS, specially when the bully as a "gang" that resonates his attacks.
As a deaf kid, I got plenty of bullying. I had to HIT BACK HARD to show that I might deaf.. but I would still break their darn mouths to defend myself. THEN they stopped bullying me.

That is in my experience on all my life.

It probably won't, but Grandson knows he has the ability to defend himself. He's been taught to use only if in an emergency situation. He can break a board with his hand. Or a nose with his foot. But he knows he can defend himself, so it gave him the confidence to stand up to the bullying. I hope this response helps. Sorry I was so slow in responding, I'm having computer trouble again. I got knocked just before I was about to post.
If you're still having trouble.Perhaps its better to just install Windows from scratch ?

If it still fails after reinstalling. Then the computer might be experiencing physical failures.

I'm not remembering any of this....link me up Scotty.
sent you a pm!
