@betty rose I've never made them as I don't care for them, and pickling spice is one of those things I can't get over here. But if you like, I can look up the recipe and post it here for you. You may have to remind me and my mommy brain is kind of like swiss cheese. But if you remind me, I WILL eventually get to it. I do remember they were rather sweet.

True, but, they did have a situation were it was just the bad guy (usually) that is justifiable missing in action. Number three was a good movie with an extremely depressing ending, thought provoking, but, depressing. Never felt bad about Michael, but, it really brought focus in on everyone else that his life destroyed.
These movies sound to heavy for me. I know, I don't like deep thinking, or anything sad. As my reaction is likely to be....:bawling:

Yikes, that is inappropriate! I don't care how good they are. :jawdrop:
Could it be that she was so sad and nervous, that she couldn't dwell on the passing. Sometimes, as I get older I have to change the world around me , because I can't take the pain; at the time. I need to work things out in the privacy of my own home. I'm so not stoic in these kind of situations. But, continuing to ask for the recipe, sounds like she was being callous.

You don't have to post. I know you are very busy, so all is good.

I had a small kitchen fire due to faulty wiring, and used baking soda, hubby was impressed! :D

They say never to use water on a grease fire, but to first attempt to throw another cooking pan (cast iron frypan is best, or a big cover) on the fire and then to throw baking soda. Between both of those, the fire should go out. (This is, of course, a small fire before it gets out of control.) I always keep a box on a shelf closest to the stove.

No...she was always like that. She was never the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. She told me once that my brother was a...red shirt, I guess?, because my mother wouldn't let him play in the mud with her son. She really just lacked tact. Her daughter, however, was the best babysitter EVER. We loved her!

Well, people, I'm out really having computer issues today. Hubby is going to run Malware, again.

That's lousey, and I understand your frustration. I STILL have to close out the forum completely a few times, mostly every time I log in. It's the script in some of the ads that is so annoying and freezing up my computer. I asked for assistance, and that can't be fixed, apparently, as whatever ads support this site are here to stay. This never happened in the past. So, sometimes I can deal with it and other times when I have to close out of the site because of the script, I just don't bother to log back in.

I do too. After that experience and hubby looking for a pan.....I know exactly where the baking soda is. We just bought a 13 1/2 lb. of baking soda from Costco, $5.79 . Such a deal. (Not that I want more wiring to fail!

I quite agree, though one person came at me at my mother's funeral to ask for the recipe for the zucchini pickels. She wanted to be sure to get that recipe while she could, since we were planning to move here and she didn't want to miss out. I hardly thought my mother's funeral was the place to be asking me for recipes, but apparently they are REALLY good pickles. Then, because I ignored the request, (I found it a bit...inappropriate timing which did not make me want to help her out) she tracked down my aunt in another town to write to me to get the recipe. She was very determined, so I can only assume they were very good pickles.

I am astounded to hear that the woman asked for a recipe from you, at your mother's funeral?!! Talk about inappropriate.
