I think Disney food prices are fair to get what you get around the country (US). Never been outside so I have no comparison to prices around the world. Sure, some (dinner) prices are sky high. But go to a ballpark, arena, movie theatre. Disney prices are fair for lunch and snack food.

Totally agree with this. I'm so used to high food prices living out here, and find Disney prices either right on the mark or lower. But then I'm sure that's true compared with most urban areas in the US.

I LOVE veggies (eating cauliflower and carrots for lunch) but it wasn't my favorite. I have a friend who doesn't eat carbs and she uses chicken ******* sliced into thirds as pizza crusts. Meatza, she calls it and it was delicious.
There are a lot of things I can't get over here...chocolate chips, Baking Soda I can only get in specialty shops, I can buy regular flour at the grocery store, but cornmeal, rice flour, anything like that has to come from a specialty shop as well. Some of the specialty shops, like for baking soda or crisco, are in a town 45 minutes from here. Butter extract, peppermint extract...well, any extract but vanilla and almond really...can't get most of them. And I can't get clear vanilla extract that I use to make icing. I have to buy it in the states. Coolwhip is a big one...there are so many recipes that call for it and we can't get it over here.

Baking soda is a specialty item?

So it's not even used as a cleaning agent?
Nope. It comes in little sachets to add to water for upset tummies as I understand it, but you can only get it at pharmacies and not in large quantities. Crazy, right? Someone at work just asked me about it Monday. Asked what it was and could she get it here because she saw some video about removing paint or something and wanted to try it.

Sounds like this could be a great money-maker if you're able to import it cheaply. I'm sure lots of people would buy it since it can be used in so many ways.

We always go to dinner in Fort Collins at our favorite Italian Restaurant. My family is from Northern Wyoming, though, so we don't spend a lot of time in the Denver area other than just passing through from the airport to home. It's a 5 hour drive from Denver to my home town. Are you actually IN Denver or one of the nearby cities?
I'm in Lone Tree a suburb, about 25 miles south of Denver. I did vacation in Fort Collins for 6 weeks, when daughter was 5 and hubby had work their. Such a wonderful town, along with Loveland, we stayed 4 weeks there at the Coach House, fondly known as the Roach House Motel.:rolleyes::D
