@Gabe1 , I went to one of the largest grocery stores in my area this morning and tried to find a bottle of ammonia (you know how fascinated I am about your magical cleaning tips with ammonia for towels and all ;)). Guess what? It's MIA. I looked up and down this long aisle of all kinds of cleaning things and saw detergents, fabric softeners, bleach, boosters, stain removers, dry cleaning packages, etc. No ammonia. Maybe they don't sell it around here anymore. o_O

As a kid, I remember my grandmother used to use it for some household cleaning (I think she diluted it with water and wore rubber gloves when using it). I remember the smell was hideous. She used all kinds of things I don't even think of such as witch hazel, bleach, baking soda, 20 Mule Team Borax (I don't even know if that's made anymore), etc.

In conclusion, I am doomed to live the rest of my life with cootie-infested towels.

Hahaaa...!

@StarWarsGirl95 @Gabe1 or anyone else. Any more advice for a DL first timer? Note that DW has been there before but before the carsland expansion and never with a toddler.
Okay, about Radiator Springs Racers:

The line is LONG. As in, FPs will be gone at 10 am. That trip was when we finally decided to start using GAC/DAS because that ride was so impossible (and we can't send my brother through the singles line, not even now). If your toddler is 40 inches tall, she can experience it, and you'll want to get a FP or get on at rope drop. If you're not staying at a resort, do it on a non EMH day. If you're toddler cannot experience it, use the singles line. The other parent can take her to Bugs Land while waiting, which has many toddler-friendly rides. And then switch.

I only know of one such area and the time zone splits the community in half. One half of the community is in Georgia (eastern time) the other half is across the river and in Alabama (Central time).

Phenix City is officially in the Central Time Zone, however, unofficially Phenix City observes Eastern Time due to the town's close proximity to Columbus, Georgia which is in the Eastern Time Zone.

So I would imagine that other places just adopt a standard time zone to observe and disregard the "official" time.

Yeah, it has been almost a decade since all of this has become a bit more uniform. Mostly by counties now. Indiana is very strange, most of which the counties go one way or other. They had several areas that were split but now divide by county over willynilly creating strange bleeps. The vast majority of Indiana is East but portions north and south stuck with the Central Time Zone.

Me I don't get why each state just doesn't pick a dang time zone.

I've seen the ammonia, witch hazel, and the 20 Mule Team Borax at Wal-Mart. I bought ammonia at Wal-Mart a couple months ago for a science lab for school. My mom use to use witch hazel to clean her face.

I'll continue to look around; don't really have a close-by Walmart, but I'll look in a few other stores. @Cesar R M also had a good suggestion to look in the bathroom cleaning supplies section of the store.

Ha! Witch Hazel--that name always scared me when I was a kid!! I wonder why your mother used it on her face; was it some sort of astringent if her skin was oily, for example? Oh, I just remembered another old concoction my grandmother used to get at a pharmacy--it was called rose water. Haven't a clue what that was used for either.

I never understood people wanting to watch horses run. And Nascar. And Golf.

That's a tough question to answer. Those are three very different sports; two of them being spectator, versus actual participation. Guess it just comes down to personal preferences.

Many people love golf; I never learned how to play, but I like miniature golf. ;) On occasion, I'll watch one of the bigger named horse races; yesterday's Belmont Stakes was exciting because of the potential for the Triple Crown--which actually happened! NASCAR intrigues me on a few levels, mainly because I'm a lousey driver and admire those who are the professionals. (Those that can handle a car at speeds up to 200 mph on a track with 43 other cars is impressive to me.) But more to the point, it's the whole strategic team effort behind each of the drivers that I find interesting. The pit crews, the crew chief, spotters, the officials, the mechanical equipment--it's all fascinating to me.

So out of curiosity, what sports (if any) do you like, and why?
