@Gabe1 , I went to one of the largest grocery stores in my area this morning and tried to find a bottle of ammonia (you know how fascinated I am about your magical cleaning tips with ammonia for towels and all

). Guess what? It's MIA. I looked up and down this long aisle of all kinds of cleaning things and saw detergents, fabric softeners, bleach, boosters, stain removers, dry cleaning packages, etc. No ammonia. Maybe they don't sell it around here anymore.
As a kid, I remember my grandmother used to use it for some household cleaning (I think she diluted it with water and wore rubber gloves when using it). I remember the smell was hideous. She used all kinds of things I don't even think of such as witch hazel, bleach, baking soda, 20 Mule Team Borax (I don't even know if that's made anymore), etc.
In conclusion, I am doomed to live the rest of my life with cootie-infested towels.
