Speaking of time zones I've always wondered how people that live right on a time zone line that cuts through a state know what time it is. I would imagine the line actually cuts through houses. It could be 5pm in the living room and 4pm in the kitchen.
I only know of one such area and the time zone splits the community in half. One half of the community is in Georgia (eastern time) the other half is across the river and in Alabama (Central time).

Phenix City is officially in the Central Time Zone, however, unofficially Phenix City observes Eastern Time due to the town's close proximity to Columbus, Georgia which is in the Eastern Time Zone.

So I would imagine that other places just adopt a standard time zone to observe and disregard the "official" time.

Congratulations for finishing up the school year. :cat: I have no doubt that you made a significant contribution to the children's lives over the past academic year. Good school teachers contribute to the future success of the country.

Even now, there are flashbacks I have of things taught to me by specific teachers. I have a real appreciation for the lessons many of them shared with me, that are still relevant in my life today.

Thanks! I have my students for three years from 7th through 9th grade and yesterday a 9th grade girl that barely talks in my class told me that she was going to miss having me for a teacher. She looked like she was going to cry, I didn't realize she felt that way. It made me happy and sad all at the same time.

its funny to thinker about timezones.

for example.. there are like 5-7 towns in the bay(including 2 big ones).. and they are "divided" in 2 timezones.

All the bay area use the same timezone despite being in different states and different zones for the sake of unification and less mess ups (since workers travel back and forth thru the bridge dividing the 2 states)

The major phone company also uses the same shared code on most of the bay cities.

check in the bottom borders between the green and poop color.
You will see the "bay" there and how it cuts in a part of it.

Oh, did you have Tonga Toast at Kona? :hungry:

Your typing is just fine by the way! Glad to hear that Pirate looked good. I didn't get a chance to ride that a few weeks ago.

@Gabe1 , I went to one of the largest grocery stores in my area this morning and tried to find a bottle of ammonia (you know how fascinated I am about your magical cleaning tips with ammonia for towels and all ;)). Guess what? It's MIA. I looked up and down this long aisle of all kinds of cleaning things and saw detergents, fabric softeners, bleach, boosters, stain removers, dry cleaning packages, etc. No ammonia. Maybe they don't sell it around here anymore. o_O

As a kid, I remember my grandmother used to use it for some household cleaning (I think she diluted it with water and wore rubber gloves when using it). I remember the smell was hideous. She used all kinds of things I don't even think of such as witch hazel, bleach, baking soda, 20 Mule Team Borax (I don't even know if that's made anymore), etc.

In conclusion, I am doomed to live the rest of my life with cootie-infested towels.

Next time you use one of those cootie infested towels be sure to leave a list of next of kin. You ARE doomed.

they might have them in the bathroom or cleaning chemicals.
Since ammonia is used in more than cleaning.
I usually see Ammonia in the bathroom cleaning utensils.
