When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Hubby says that once you get married, your dating anniversary doesn't count anymore.

But - if you're a girl (and I am) - it does! Ergo, today was number 29!
I even got us Disney Anniversary pins; so there!

We started "going steady" (is that even a thing anymore?) when he was 17, and I was 18.

Think I should attempt to go to sleep. Might be back though, I'm feeling it's not going to be an easy sleep night tonight.:(

@JenniferS - feel free to send any of your loot that doesn't fit in your suitcase directly to me!!!! $2500? Woowzers!! :greedy: Impressed and jealous!
3 Dooney & Bourke bags (one is Tammy's) and 5 Pandora charms add up quickly.
Plus, most of my Christmas shopping is done.

Yea, I don't have a problem with folks on the internet knowing my first name, or what city I live in. Steve from Austin, Texas is pretty general. And, if from those two clues, anyone wants to try and hunt my sorry rear down, good luck, and you've got WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY to much flippin' time on your hands and need to get a life. :D ;) :)

Although, there are a few pics of me and the fam, 'round here, too... :cautious:

;)
Yup, the way I figure it, you're not going to be able to figure out who I am unless you know me irl. In that case, four pieces of information is enough: Missy, full name Marisa, Baltimore, and Disney fan, are enough to figure it out. But if you don't know me irl, it would be pretty hard to track me down. And even so, Linked In and Facebook are pretty much the two places where I can be found in a non anonymous form, along with some school-related stuff. My Facebook profile is tightly locked, as is Linked In, not that there's much interesting stuff on there other than work history. And even if anyone here tried to track me down, they would have WAY too much time on their hands, and they wouldn't find much.

Wow. I love all of this! If I was college aged again, this is exactly where I'd want to go! (I don't have any disabilities, but I like how forward-thinking this college is, with regard to their approach to disabled students.) My favorite thing is the on-campus club for students that trains the dogs!

My DHs nephew just signed to go to her University this evening. I have a hard time wrapping my brain around athletes and signing trumping admission policies. This year the University stopped all early admissions. Yet they do early admissions for athletes on a 5 year plan. I grasp college sports are money grabs for Big 10 schools but it is humorous to end a policy and say just kidding when it comes to athletes.

Rant over

Acknowledgement like. Hopefully your father got some recognition since then. My father does which is nice.

The Wars is something my Dad was trained to put behind him which he did. He will rarely speak of it. He was fine in Japan however being trained and recalled he was one of the first with boots on the ground in Korea, I get the idea it was none to pleasant.

I wish he would take the Freedom Flight, he is eligible as he was in Japan.

I learned a valuable lesson tonight. I suck at ironing while wearing glasses even more than I do while wearing contacts.

Ironing is something I rarely attempt and when I do it generally is a Fail. Big fan of taking that stuff to the cleaners and I'm pretty careful in what I buy that most won't have to go to the cleaners. I'll pay the $1.29 to have the shirts pressed.

I was thinking of posting a pic of me on Space mountain in my Halloween costume during MNSSHP....i decided against it.

Yeah, I don't put photo's of my family up on the internet anywhere. My avatar is a good memory of DS, that is as close as it gets. There have been a few faceless photo's here and there but I just don't go there, never have.

Just looking at the snap shot and not even playing the video gave me anxiety.

Don't. Do. Heights. Nope. :jawdrop::confused::hungover:

I'm not really good at the height thing anymore either, it never use to bother me and it doesn't even have to be a great height yet I can do Sears/Willis Tower likely cause I've done it since I was a kid. What made me say to oneself was the chairlift at Blizzard Beach, I did not like that and had been fine before and I've gone up freak'n mountains in Colorado with zero stress. I have no explanation for me.

Looking up for me is worse than looking down. I was at the Empire State building a couple years ago. Looking down was no problem. But, then I looked up and... :jawdrop:

Heh, heh . . . (I also recall one time that I was on the sidewalk next to the Empire, and looked way up--nearly fell over backwards!) :D

It is fun at the top of that puppy, though, isn't it? What a great view!

Well, this is probably a lame idea; but it might make you feel a little bit better, if you wrote to the dean of that university, voicing your disdain for the discriminatory admission policy. :banghead:

Oh, how nice!! You two were high school sweethearts and still in love! :inlove: :inlove:

(Although the 1950s were well before your (and my) dating time, have you ever seen the old black and white photos of a young couple at the soda shop: they sit across from one another and have two straws in an ice cream soda. They're both staring in each other's eyes, while sipping the drink together. For some reason, I just had that vision of the two of you together like that, as high school sweeties.) :)
