For those of you, who unlike myself, didn't dedicate a whole year to the rewarding experience of flunking French in High School, I am going to now show the amazing extent of knowledge I have obtained from that glorious year. Derrière, pronounced the same as the above meme' means ones butt. My family was so proud of me! Especially my grandparents that had French as their native language. Their parents had wandered down to just below the border in Northern New York State from Québec, Canada.

Later on while visiting Paris while in college, I managed to learn a few more phrases but only enough to get my face slapped. 🤔

The nearest Oasis concert to me coming to New Jersey. I think the highest ticket offered. Nosebleeds for $200 though. Which honestly, is still a lot. I don't understand New York Jets and Giants when they don't play in New York. (same stadium so it's related)

I understand the concern.

Friend of the family has a sister that lives in the path of Hurricane Milton and that friend of the family is concerned about her sister. The reason for the concern is that sister refused to go to Wisconsin and will be toughing out in apartment on the 2nd floor instead despite the hurricane experience in 2022.
That person made it. The friend of the family's sister called to her sister after the hurricane. I heard that tornado from hurricane Milton happened about 2 miles away from where she lives.

Today was likely to be the hottest day till the spring where I live. It reached 82 outside. It not going to reach the mid 60s again till Thursday. Tuesday is supposed to be 34 degrees at night.

Tomorrow is going to be 60 or 61 degrees as a high here with it being 47 at night tomorrow.

All the home generator commercials make me wonder…
If I spend 10K-15K on one, and my house is in a hurricane zone, I may likely not even have a house left to power up after it’s been destroyed by hurricane-force winds or a tornado… 🤔:cyclops:

Haven't you heard that life is a constant gamble. You buy one in the event that all you lose is power. If all that other stuff happens you would have much bigger problems than having spent what would be parking meter change compared the the rest of the loss.

That was kind of our thinking as well. We may change our minds after Milton though. We keep getting told we may be out until the 17th. Hubs and I have not yet experienced it as we are still stuck in Indy. Fingers crossed our 5th rescheduled flight tomorrow actually is a go. Though this is giving us more time with grandson 😍😍

Yes, that’s why I said it makes me wonder…not that folks shouldn’t make the investment.
It’s just that some folks will make the investment, only to have it all blown away anyway, including the 10K-15K generator.

Yes, life’s a gamble. Our original plan was to eventually move to Florida after we retire.
We’re now gambling by staying perfectly fine here where we are now in Central Texas.

Yes, I can see considering it if your only real worries are about prolonged power outages, especially if you’ve experienced them before.

Congrats on the grandson, BTW…!!! :)
Being a grandparent is AWESOME, and it’s just another reason why we’re staying put here, especially since our granddaughters home is within walking distance of ours, and there’s a neighborhood park and pool in between us…!!!!! :inlove::happy:
