So we arrived on May 20th and went to DTD or Disney Springs. We ate at Earl of Sandwich then walked along the bridge. The cars that go in the water look like fun but I'm not going to be riding one anytime soon.
We then took the boat to Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter. This is one of my favorite things to do. I bought my first mug: a French Quarter mug.
May 21 we went to Boma for breakfast and saw Warwick Davis eating with his family! We got a picture but my son is in the picture and I'm not smart enough to crop him out.
How cool is that you got to meet Warwick Davis. (Willow is one of my favorite movies. If I'd been able to have another daughter her name would have been Elora Danan.) We had to choose between meeting him or Jeremy Bulloch at SWW one year...Boba Fett won of course.

I actually hated.. no wait.. loathed with all my life.. schools that enforced strong dress codes.
Imagine being forced to wear shoes, when you have physical problems (bone weakness, one leg shorter than the other).

Did barefoot work better? One of my teachers had that issue of leg length. She had shoes similar to this but her issue was more profound a good 8-10 inches:

My DD college dorm room mate-in high school had her arms and legs fitted with metal contraptions that continually broke her limbs, when they would heal they'd turn the screws and break them again to lengthen and strengthen them.

She had these on her arms and legs. Her last semester senior year her PE Class a teacher took her one on one each day and taught her to walk up stairs, something she had never done before. She walked up the stairs and across the stage at high school graduation with her PE teacher by her side. Now that huge campus of the University of Illinois was a real issue for her the first year they were down there for the young lady.

Maybe just you and me. I've said it many times before I'm not a parade person. I saw the afternoon parade in segments as I walked it in the opposite direction many times. We often park hop during the parade.
The lines all of the sudden get short during the parade, so that's nice. I've watched the parades a handful of times. Several just because it was in my way (that's how my brother and I ended up watching Festival of Fantasy. He complained. That dragon float is pretty cool, though.) Usually, I'd rather just take advantage of the short lines.

The parade that was good was Tapestry of Nations in Epcot when I was little

May 23 we get to HS around 230 and do a lot of SW stuff. It's fun but I liked it better back in the days of Hyperspace Hoopla.

My daughter got the smores.
We saw Fantasmic and the SW fireworks which is wonderful. Back to the hotel and did some laundry.
I'm sorry my trip reports are not that great and I will try to make them reflect more of the fun we are having but I'm currently in the food court posting this because it's the only place I get reception.
I'll try to take better pictures too.
I miss Hyperspace Hoopla too.

I loved Tapestry and the music. Just Epcot is not built for a parade. Same as Animal Kingdom.

One time, we skipped a night parade and got right on Splash Mt which all outdoor rides are better at night for some reason.

barefoot? of course not.
the school used to be a farm, so most of the floor was dirt and rocks.
and walking 5Km every day (from house to bus, then from bus to school and back) under the blistering heat of my home? nope.. tennis was the way to go.

miss the music! (my favorite part was Mimmie's. That silly dance by Chip and Dale during the song always made me smile!

I HATE Columbus Day. The man discovered Haiti/Dominican Republic, not America. Not to mention all the unsavory aspects.
While Columbus discovered the islands...and gets blamed of the unsavory aspects.
I think the real man to blame was Hernan Cortez. because he was the one who did bring the greed to the levels of mass murdering.

funny that a lot of Columbus statues in many countries in latin america.. have been destroyed or defaced many times.

I bagged 3 pairs of summer shoes this week. Today's purchase I went back for as I was feeling the guilt but got over it and went back for them today. These are Jeep ballerina slipper-ish shoes that feel like gym shoes. Cute enough to wear with a casual dress or skirt, fun enough to wear with shorts.

What do these jeep ballerina slippers look like? I'm looking for something like you mentioned.

I'm happy to read that the new system works for you, and it works for many others as well. (I think that my approach probably works best for solo guests.)

On my solo trip I used FP+ a lot to get my favorite attractions done. I stayed with my typical touring style that I use with hubby too, which is getting up early, napping in the afternoon, and staying until close. I didn't think I would like FP+ but it saves a lot of time (no more crisscrossing the park) and I'm a planner so I don't mind planning in advance. But everyone has different styles of touring.

It would be nice to see a few changes to Illuminations but It's such a great show as it is and I'm scared they might ruin it. I hope they always keep the Illuminations music. I just don't think there's any topping it.

Fantasmic, however, could use some upgrading to make it as good as Disneyland's.

I would like to see a new Illuminations. I grew up with the Illuminations of the late 80's-1990's and I loved that classical music they used. I was in awe when they would like up each country (except Norway & Morocco of course) and play a bit of the country's folk music. I have the old soundtrack on my ipod and I'm still lovin' it, if I lost that file I would be devastated, but I have it backed up and burned onto a couple cd's. I don't think anything could top that and I would like to see something like that come back. I do like parts of the current Illuminations but not as much as what I remember from as a kid.

I do agree that Fantasmic at WDW could use something a little extra. DL's is better, probably because of the Columbia sailing ship/Peter Pan scene.

I like to do laundry on vacation. I meet a lot of nice people in there and I enjoy meeting people from around around the world. My son helped me fold it so I didn't work too hard. ;) We build in rest days on our trip so we don't get too tired. I like bring in Florida so every minute is enjoyed even if it's doing laundry.
We do laundry if we are there longer too. Carry more clothes taking up suitcase space versus a few hours of laundry...hmmm. We always plan to do laundry at the one next to the pool and add it into evening swim time.
