Don't Google fuel prices in Guernsey...Under $2? That's a dream. I nearly had a heart attack seeing the gas prices when I was in CA. They were cheaper in Hawaii...

I haven't needed long pants for nearly 18 months.I thought it might be wise to say this softly. I went to the store this morning wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Sorry, not sorry!
I don't want to. Between having to convert to liters and convert the currency, that's a lot of math, and I spend enough time dealing with numbers during the week at work, so hard pass...Don't Google fuel prices in Guernsey...
Reminds me of this scene from “Raising Arizona”…!!!!!
Don't you wear shorts if it's above like 50 degrees?I thought it might be wise to say this softly. I went to the store this morning wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Sorry, not sorry!
Just over $7 a US gallon...I don't want to. Between having to convert to liters and convert the currency, that's a lot of math, and I spend enough time dealing with numbers during the week at work, so hard pass...
I saw $2.97 for regular this morning, and thought that wasn't too bad. I can't even recall how many years ago that gas was $2.00!! But, I know that you're in an area that's close to the source, so your prices have always been lower than up here.Yea, I just looked up current gas prices in both CA and HI. HI is a little less, but, both average prices are still about $2 more than we are.
Just crazy.
I mean, in CA, I understand their reasoning because of their pollution problem, but it hurts my wallet.

Didn't realize it was that long ago -- I need to pay more attention!$2.97 isn’t too bad, these days.
Pretty sure I posted prices here that were under $2 about 3-3.5 years ago, I think…?!
One of the various good things about temps in the 20s, is that the ground remains frozen. So, there are some hiking trails in the woods that I go to, and a few of the trails (year round), often have wet, muddy sections. But when the ground is frozen, I can easily walk straight over those sections -- without having to jump over rocks and mud, while balancing on trekking poles -- just to advance down the trail.
52.8. That's about a mile short of here to Hershey. I prefer my bed to basement office commute.Yep, my wallet hurts enough at $2.84, especially with my daily office commute having gone from 29.8 miles to 52.8.
Now, excuse me while I get my wallet a painkiller…!!!!!
We prefer the non-frozen temperatures so that no one had to shovel the snow. It's basically all gone. One of the various good things about temps in the 20s, is that the ground remains frozen. Well, have I got a vehicle for you...Just over $7 a US gallon...
I know I'm old but I'm not that old .Well, have I got a vehicle for you...

Oh yeah, there are absolutely jobs where you have to be in the office. Accounting isn't one of them, which is one of the major reasons I went into it. The lights in the office bother my head. I have lenses in my glasses that block blue light from the computer and fluorescent lights, but at home, I have lamps. I never turn on my overhead lights. When I went into the office, there were days I wore a visor in addition to my glasses just to keep my eyes happy.Yea, we tried that during Covid, and it lasted a whole 6 weeks…!!!!!
Architecture is such a dynamic thing, that it’s way more productive in person, especially in the design phases, which is what I do almost exclusively.
We do have a couple of young moms that work from home about 3 days a week, but, they’re involved in the production aspect after the design phases, which is much more straightforward.
Wish I could work from home too, of course, but, come the next pandemic, they’re gonna’ have the vast majority of us in the office even if we hafta’ wear hazmat suits…!!!!!

And then there's people and their fragrances. My last job had a company-wide policy against it, but people didn't always listen. If my asthmatic lungs weren't bothered by it, then my migraine brain was.
And also, I am a lot cleaner than people in the office. I run HEPA filters in here, I frequently vacuum, and I wipe down surfaces. At my last office, there used to be a layer of dust on the surfaces after every day. It was gross.
And of course, I am absolutely healthier when I'm not being exposed to a bunch of germs. I've been getting sick recently, but this is unusual these days for me.
I also need additional sleep. I sleep a good 8-9 hours per night, more if I have a migraine or if I've been sick. Working from home allows me to get that sleep and to sleep later, which is when my body gets it's best sleep.
Not everyone likes working from home or can work from home, but it's a godsend for me. I'm never going back to an in-person office if I can help it.
