I thought it might be wise to say this softly. I went to the store this morning wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Sorry, not sorry!
Don't you wear shorts if it's above like 50 degrees?

I've been wearing flip flops outside to go grab my mail in spite of it being like 40 something degrees. I think my neighbors might think I'm crazy. I don't really care...

Yea, I just looked up current gas prices in both CA and HI. HI is a little less, but, both average prices are still about $2 more than we are.
Just crazy.
I saw $2.97 for regular this morning, and thought that wasn't too bad. I can't even recall how many years ago that gas was $2.00!! But, I know that you're in an area that's close to the source, so your prices have always been lower than up here.

$2.97 isn’t too bad, these days.
Pretty sure I posted prices here that were under $2 about 3-3.5 years ago, I think…?! 🤔

One of the various good things about temps in the 20s, is that the ground remains frozen. So, there are some hiking trails in the woods that I go to, and a few of the trails (year round), often have wet, muddy sections. But when the ground is frozen, I can easily walk straight over those sections -- without having to jump over rocks and mud, while balancing on trekking poles -- just to advance down the trail.

We prefer the non-frozen temperatures so that no one had to shovel the snow. It's basically all gone. 😂

52.8. 😳 That's about a mile short of here to Hershey. I prefer my bed to basement office commute. 😂

Yea, we tried that during Covid, and it lasted a whole 6 weeks…!!!!! 🙃:hilarious:
Architecture is such a dynamic thing, that it’s way more productive in person, especially in the design phases, which is what I do almost exclusively.
We do have a couple of young moms that work from home about 3 days a week, but, they’re involved in the production aspect after the design phases, which is much more straightforward.
Wish I could work from home too, of course, but, come the next pandemic, they’re gonna’ have the vast majority of us in the office even if we hafta’ wear hazmat suits…!!!!! :D🤣

Oh yeah, there are absolutely jobs where you have to be in the office. Accounting isn't one of them, which is one of the major reasons I went into it. The lights in the office bother my head. I have lenses in my glasses that block blue light from the computer and fluorescent lights, but at home, I have lamps. I never turn on my overhead lights. When I went into the office, there were days I wore a visor in addition to my glasses just to keep my eyes happy.

And then there's people and their fragrances. My last job had a company-wide policy against it, but people didn't always listen. If my asthmatic lungs weren't bothered by it, then my migraine brain was.

And also, I am a lot cleaner than people in the office. I run HEPA filters in here, I frequently vacuum, and I wipe down surfaces. At my last office, there used to be a layer of dust on the surfaces after every day. It was gross.

And of course, I am absolutely healthier when I'm not being exposed to a bunch of germs. I've been getting sick recently, but this is unusual these days for me.

I also need additional sleep. I sleep a good 8-9 hours per night, more if I have a migraine or if I've been sick. Working from home allows me to get that sleep and to sleep later, which is when my body gets it's best sleep.

Not everyone likes working from home or can work from home, but it's a godsend for me. I'm never going back to an in-person office if I can help it.

I definitely see the advantages for you working from home, and I’m glad you were able to find a work situation that works best for you…!!! :)
Even after all these years (going back and forth from drafting table to 2 computer monitors), fortunately, the only eye issues I’ve had have been due to “short arm disease”…!!!!! :bookworm::hilarious:
It started in my early 40’s (about 20 years ago), and I started out with drug store cheaters at 1.00.
I’m now up to 2.5, but, looks like I’ll be needing to go to 2.75-3.00 soon.

Yep, although I don’t have asthma, fragrances can annoy me, too. Walking through any fragrance area of a department store, or the detergent aisle of a grocery store has always bugged me.
I can’t even remember the last time I wore any cologne, and the deodorant I wear is “shower clean”, and very low key.

As far as the clean thing goes, I’m that way too, but, many in the office are not. Although, it’s getting better, as our Office Assistant has sent emails and posted signs in the break room basically saying “Clean up your messes, people!”…!!!!! :D
Also, we do have 2 large HEPA filters in the office, and a cleaning crew that comes in 3 days a week, so there is never any appreciable dust buildup.

I haven’t been sick much lately. I’m kinda’ of the school that being exposed to germs helps me build up a better immunity to them, but, we’re all slightly different physiologically, and that can make a big difference for many.
Hope things start to get better for you soon health-wise.

As far as the sleep thing goes, I may get 4-5 hrs. a night, if I’m lucky…!!!!! 🤪😅
I wake up several times a night, which is annoying, but, I usually doze good towards early morning, so when I get up at 6a on work days, I’m good to go…!!! :)

My job can be really cool, but, it’s also nowhere near without stress.
Hopefully, I can retire in a few years, and then none of this will matter anymore…!!!!! 🤣:hilarious:
