They closed school up here for today before school was even out yesterday. IMHO a very smart decisionI find it funny they closed schools this morning even though...it didnt snow....and the sun is out. Its 11 am. Kids nowadays have it really, really easy when it comes to the weather.

We have a layer here that's starting to melt. I agree, why did they need a day off? We're very dramatic here.If it was bad snow then yeah, but here it only rained with the "chance" of snow. I've been up since 7 this morning (when they claimed it was supposed to switch over) and it didnt snow here. So the kids got a day off from school because of rain.
At least you're not doing it...Looks like the snow is finally slowing down and we may wind up with just shy of a foot but it's close. The boys have been out shoveling and according to them it's very heavy
Unlimited PTO? I have never heard of a company that offers that. Where do I I sign up?At least you're not doing it...
Apparently at least two of my Boston-based coworkers are off today because they have no power. At least we have unlimited PTO.
Of what? You can get out and go to TargetIm jealous

@JenniferS I'm in until......................................
They probably lived in the southern part of the state, or out on Cape Cod -- storm was active in those areas. (Boston and north only got around 3 inches, and not much wind. Storm was dramatically downgraded overnight.)At least you're not doing it...

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly where they live. Headquarters itself is located west of Boston. Most of my coworkers are spread out in the area. I am the only HQ accountant that doesn't live in commuting distance. I think we have an AP person located someplace else. My accounting senior is in NH but still in driving distance of the office. Everyone else is spread out in MA. Thankfully, it doesn't affect my opportunity for advancement since all of the jobs can be done remotely. It's just a little weird having a Carefirst of Massachusetts insurance card when I live in Maryland.They probably lived in the southern part of the state, or out on Cape Cod -- storm was active in those areas. You don't want to go to one of the Kmart's my younger brother used to work. That Kmart closed down due to theft problems.Id rather go to Kmart.
