My dad uses the two finger typing. I watch him and question how he gets anything done.

My mom took typing classes on a typewriter in high school. A fact that I find pretty hilarious; however, although she lacks in all other areas of technology, she can touch type.
Hopefully your dad isn't as bad as my dad for using a smart phone. Dad has problems using smart phone due to fat fingers.

My mom is similar to yours for some technology. It my mom years to feel comfortable being online and wasn't easy for her to adapt to a computer. The only reason my parents got internet originally was because I told me dad about wanting internet at home after mom wasn't sure about it. The high school I went to had internet access and I experienced it before I told my parents about it..

My mom was an awarding winning typist in high school. She was able to type 90 words per minute without a single typing mistake in a 2 minute drill on a typewriter. Mom made sure my younger brother and I took a typing class in High school.

I have got to remember to ask the VA about the RSV shot. I got the other two, but not a sound about the RSV one. Sometimes the VA is right on top of things, but every once in a while they drag way behind. This last round of Covid shots didn't get authorized until almost all the other locations had already gone through a couple shipments of the vaccine. The one thing that is a total mystery to me is that the Covid home tests have not been available via the VA.

Most of the time if a person is getting their medical care from the VA we don't have a need to carry Part B, Medicare. The catch 22 was that if you didn't have Part B you couldn't get them from those outside sources and the VA never had them. I had to get both of mine via that post office. I'm still not sure how that worked. It didn't work until the Government felt that the Covid wasn't as dangerous anymore but was still in the atmosphere.

All 3 were covered by my insurance. Carolyn got all 3 about 2 weeks ago, and was miserable for about a day-and-a-half, unfortunately.
So far, I still feel perfectly fine.
Since the RSV is a new one, they asked me to wait about 15 minutes before leaving Walgreens.
I wasn’t even gonna’ get another Covid shot, but, Carolyn guilted me into it because of 87-year-old MIL living with us now.
I’m way beyond over Covid shots, masks, etc.

My kids would have reported us for child abuse or sent us to Shady Pines. Haven't had dial up since maybe 2001 or 2. Couldn't wait to get rid of the silly noise and ditch the 2nd phone line
2nd phone line? We had one line. And for a while, we only had the pay per minute plan until we eventually upgraded to the unlimited plan for $10 per month. Which meant you couldn't use it if someone needed to use the phone.

The computer we had when I was on elementary and middle school had Windows ME on it. You could pay to upgrade to Windows XP, but would my dad do that? Of course not. In a way though, that's what made me so computer savvy. The thing was constantly not working right and I had to figure out how to fix it.

And cell phones. I finally got mine in 9th grade. It was a pay-as-you-go flip phone. It cost 25 cents a minute, so I was allowed to basically call Mom with it. It cost 20 cents per text so no texting was allowed. They put a texting block on it. Eventually, I was allowed a 200 texts per month plan to text Mom only. Eventually we started exceeding that and got an unlimited talk and text plan. Boy that was a happy day.

I finally got a data plan about six months before I was set to start paying for my phone plan myself. This was 2016.

I get enough of Gen Z vs millennials vs baby boomers vs Gen X through regular news and just reading internet headlines and it's really annoying.
Oh, it's more of an age thing when I say idk what they're doing. See, I like to think I'm closer to 21 until I start hanging around Gen Z, and then I realize I don't have a clue what they're saying because they're making up works, and they're referring to the 90s as the "late 1900s", and they're trying to bring back wide leg jeans (they do NOT look good), and I'm just like...I don't get this, I'm gonna go ahead and keep my young millennial card. 😂

You could coat your entire house's surface with the cds they keep giving in every single magazine.
So back when I was in IT, we had a building move, and we had to go through all the software on CDs and figure out what needed to be saved.

I think we found a dozen or so of those AOL CDs. Apparently the lady who was in charge before my boss never threw anything away. 😂

I might even still have one lying around here. Mom found her Blockbuster card not that long ago.

My Blockbuster card is in with some sentimental things for a future generation to ponder over

Can't speak for the VA, but I haven't noticed too much in the news about the RSV one, except for younger kids. Just the other day I had a yearly physical, and asked my doctor about RSV. She said that she's also recommending the shot for middle aged and above.

Since the RSV is a new one, they asked me to wait about 15 minutes before leaving Walgreens.
On a lighter note, I was in Walgreens the other day and you could barely get through the aisles, stocked full of Christmas impulse-buy trinkets, etc. I was just thinking that if a person had a reaction to the shot -- and had to be wheeled out of there on a stretcher by medics -- they'd all be tripping over Santas, reindeer, snow globes, wreaths, tree lights, etc. You'd be a goner before you made it to the hospital! :p

I had gotten my 6th covid shot a few weeks ago but on my 2nd and 3rd , the pharmacist held onto my vaccine card which she stamped and then gave it back to me after I waited 15 min after the shot at Target pharmacy. She used an egg timer to make sure I waited 15 min.

Too funny…!!!!! 😂
Carolyn had scheduled me for Walgreens at 2:15p to get the shots.
About 1:45p Carolyn calls me and asks where I am. I tell her about a mile from Walgreens. She asks which one. I tell her the one at 620 and El Salido. She says no, you need to be at the one on 183 and Duval.
So, I turn around and head the 6 miles to the latter.
I get there, run the gauntlet around all the holiday carp in the aisles, only to find out they have no appointment scheduled for me. :cyclops:
I call Carolyn. She says she’ll look it up, but, she’s sure it was scheduled for the 183 and Duval location.
No, it was actually the 620 and El Salido location after all…!!!!!:hilarious:
So, I run the gauntlet on my way out again, and head for that location.
I get to that location, run the holiday carp gauntlet, yet again, and wait 45 mins. (they were understaffed and even closed the drive-thru) to finally get all shot up…!!!!! :hilarious:
So yea, holiday carp everywhere, at both locations…!!!!! 😅
It turned out to be a spectacular half-day Friday adventure…!!!!!!! :joyfull:🤣

Oh, and other than a little soreness in my left shoulder, where I got the Covid and flu shots, still no other ill effects…!!! :)
