I bet that would be a better option than what I dealt with when I was growing up for a Thanksgiving meal .

What I am referring to is I had to go to my dad's parents house for Thanksgiving back when I was growing up. My grandmother could make some foods well, but turkey was not one of them. Her turkeys were very dry and once she took all the juice out of a turkey inside the oven. She was the one is able to make butterball turkeys dry:facepalm:. Dad's 2 sisters couldn't cook at all, but they used to make the mashed potatoes. The 2 aunts used to turn the mashed potatoes turned into milk soup .

Now days my parents do the Thanksgiving meals and they are always done great with turkey nice and juicy.

Still a major improvement over my moms. My bff's family gave everybody food poisoning several years in a row:eek: There's a reason I've always turned down their invitation

And then along came the plastic roasting bags. It cooks the Turkey in far less time, and because it is in a little cook in bag the moisture stays in. Our family stopped doing the carving at the table ages ago. That way no one has to know how the sausage (in this case, Turkey) is made because it comes out to the table, sliced on a platter that is passed around the table to everyone. After my divorce I hosted and prepared the Turkey dinner and all the fixings by myself, and to my knowledge no one died from food poisoning plus everyone returned when my rotation came around again.
