Most of the crap that I bought yesterday was plushies, so I'm not certain it's "good crap". Except for the weighted Dumbo. That was totally needed. And I'm half expecting baby Rocket to get stolen.Yeah but you need to get enough good crap for free shipping (on a normal day) and not the below crap.

Dad already put up most of the decorations for Christmas for my parents house already including the cups that spell Noel. Those cups according to dad came from the 1950s or earlier. He still does spells those Noel cups to spell Leon to this day when he puts up decorations.
Do they numb the arm you're not allowed to use or put it in a sling? How does that all work with restricting the use of the arm (I'm assuming the left arm)?Dad already put up most of the decorations for Christmas for my parents house already including the cups that spell Noel. The only decorates Dad has to do for inside their house is decorating the trees, and the stuff underneath the tree. The only other decorate stuff is mom's stuff. Mom's stuff is Disney Christmas stuffed animals such as a Dumbo with a candy cane along with decorates some of her regular Dumbo's getting small Santa outfits & candy canes.
The reason Dad is doing his decorating so early is his defibrillator surgery is happening on Monday and according to his specialist, it would take up to 4 weeks to recover. When you have defibrillator surgery done, you only can use one arm during recovery time. It is safe to say he's not doing the turkey.
I do not know about the numb part, but Dad already said he wants that arm in a sling because of the location of the defibrillator is going to be implanted. Dad already said he will be able to use his right arm, but not his left arm.Do they numb the arm you're not allowed to use or put it in a sling? Good luck to him! and your mom!!!!!!!!!!I do not know about the numb part, but Dad already said he want that arm in a sling because of the location of the defibrillator is going to be implanted. Dad already said he will be able to use his right arm, but not his left arm.
Thanks mom will need it.Good luck to him! and your mom!!!!!!!!!!
My dad uses the two finger typing. I watch him and question how he gets anything done.Dad though will not be affected in terms of typing on a computer. Dad never took typing lessons in his life and it shows. He normally uses one finger to type.
I liked my typing class in high school back in the day. It was a skill I improved upon, and the teacher taught us to use proper posture and foot placement. One of my dorm mates in college turned it into a lucrative side hustle. He charged 25 cents a page to type and many fellow students gave him plenty of written term papers to type nightly. My dad uses the two finger typing. I watch him and question how he gets anything done.
My mom took typing classes on a typewriter in high school. A fact that I find pretty hilarious; however, although she lacks in all other areas of technology, she can touch type.
I feel like most of my age group just learned to touch type because in school, we had stuff to do so we had to learn how to type to keep up. They gave us a keyboard game in tech Ed in middle school to kind of help us learn, but we were otherwise on our own.
Idk how Gen Z does with touch typing. Actually, idk what Gen Z is doing most of the time...
I wish your dad the best with his upcoming surgery. It sounds like the plan to decorate early is working out well. And as a side thought only, not everything has to be perfect with all the usual holiday preparations (decorating, cooking, etc.). If need be, a few random things might be trimmed back a smidge this year -- and then added back in, for the next holiday season.Dad already put up most of the decorations for Christmas for my parents house already including the cups that spell Noel. I went to public high school, and many students took typing classes. Will tell you one thing -- those typewriters were indestructible! (And they didn't need constant updates, etc., such as computer systems. So I just wanted to put in a little plug here for old reliable equipment -- while realizing that it was quite limited in scope, compared to computers.)My mom took typing classes on a typewriter in high school.

Good grief young lady, you make your mom sound like she was chiseling a rock to communicate. I took typing in school when manual typewriters were all there was at the time. Not to mention it is the same keyboard setup. Heck, I was in my thirties when computers still filled a room. Home computers when they did come out were a joke. Try surfing the internet with a dialup AOL connection. She, at least, probably had electric typewriters, ours were all manual, including the hand operated carriage return. IBM did come out with the "Selectric" around my senior year but if I recall we had only two and it was a fight to the finish to get to one. Either one required either a typewriter eraser or white-out to make corrections. Once you pushed down that key the letter was on the paper. My dad uses the two finger typing. I watch him and question how he gets anything done.

In our public school some did not go to college for various reasons and for the girls who took typing class it helped a number of them find secretarial work after graduation. I took typing class because I knew I had to learn and improve my skills of typing when I went to college and beyond. I liked the fact that the typing class I was in , was many girls and few of us boys in class. Typing actually forced me to improve my spelling of words. One thing about typing on a typewriter was if you made a mistake you had to type the whole page all over again. Current times is we are spoiled to have a backspace delete key on the keyboard.I went to public high school, and many students took typing classes. One of the reasons why I liked typing class was because it wasn't math or science -- which I never enjoyed!
I'm just impressed your dad can ue two fingers to type. That's just showing offMy dad uses the two finger typing. I watch him and question how he gets anything done.

I find the ads that cover the typing part frustrating also.Minor rant here... Those of you that can spend money to have special privilage and not see all the advertisements that WDW magic is placing on these pages, it is starting to get ridiculous. Now there is a GIANT advertisement at the start of every page 12" wide and 6" high, couple that with the one inch advertising banner on the bottom means a smaller viewing area. But the kicker is the little 3.5" wide by 2" high add that constantly pops up and always covers part of the screen where you are typing. It covers areas where you have to want to click on something you have to close it out and if the timing is just right it flashes on just when you click and the ad becomes full screen.
I don't usually complain about stuff like that but it is taking a lot of the fun out of this site. It's just annoying. At least the other Disney based large site just narrows the page leaving a two inch space on the right hand side of the typing area so you don't have to scroll around or up and down to read a post or write one. I know it's my choice, I don't have to be here but I like this site even though there is a growing list of people that don't like me to much. I just wish a little more thought might be used in placement of that ads. I know they need them to survive, but it's almost like being in standby when you have to watch the Genie+ people pass you while you wait. For example right now I have to scroll up just to see the "Post reply" button.
