We're supposed to get some icing overnight here. The DPW has already been out today, pretreating roads in the area.
If you are talking about those cute strips of salt brine they put down you'd probably get better results just going out and peeing on the road. There really isn't enough salt in that to make much of a difference unless it is immediately when it starts to rain or snow.

It was still 86 degrees here when I left office about 6:15p… :)

It's supposed to get to 86 here tomorrow. And thank all of you for reminding me why I moved south. Sure we have an occasional hurricane or even fewer tornado's, but only an occasional snow of any accumulation storm and even fewer freezing rain storms, but there are some and that closes us down for a week regardless of the degree of bad weather.

Anyone else here have a Disney-themed Lock Screen (I think that’s what it’s called)…?
I’ve had this one for years…!!! :)

My wallpapers/lockscreen photos for my phone/iPad/computer are all photos I've taken. On the iPad, it's of Diamond Head in Hawaii. On my phone, the lockscreen is a photo I took at Aulani, though it's all nature (I was standing on some rocks I wasn't supposed to be standing on...🤣). And then my wallpaper is EE. My computer rotates wallpapers, so it's got WDW photos, SC, Hawaii, California...hoping to add some more photos to that mix soon. 😄

Yea, that freak freezing rain storm we had a few weeks ago was somethin’ else.
The Texas A&M Forest Service estimates the city of Austin had about 31% of its tree canopy affected, totaling about 10.5 million trees. As per the video I posted last week, there’s still tree debris piled up everywhere waiting to be picked up, and they say it’ll be months before it’s all cleared.
That being said, not many whole trees actually went down, just tons of branches. So, except for a few small places, you really can’t tell any difference, as we’ve always had so many trees around here anyway.
It was a bit nerve wracking at home for those coupla’ days just watchin’ TV and such, and hearin’ all the cracking and falling branches.
In the 46+ years we’ve lived here, we’ve had our share of ice storms before, but, the damage from this one is unprecedented.
I figure it was just mother natures way of pruning what was long overdue for a pruning (lots of tree huggers ‘round these parts…!!! ;))
Plus, the vast majority of it’ll grow back over the coming years…!!! :)

My monitors at the office are a night shot of SSE.
It just stays static, no rotating for me…!!!!! :hilarious:
