So yesterday, I got an email from a customer about an invoice. In my old role, I used to handle certain customer invoices, but now I'm an accountant; I absolutely do not deal with customer invoices. I've also been slammed and their question wasn't one I could easily do like pulling an invoice (and then redirecting them to the proper channels for future reference). So I just went ahead and forwarded the request to AR.

I got such argument from them about how this request needed to go to sales. I'm like...fine, but this request definitely should not be coming to me. If there's a problem with getting an invoice paid, that's literally your problem and you need to pick up the customer's question, not me. I actually had to send an email saying, "This no longer falls under my scope of responsibility nor do I have the capacity to handle these types of inquiries." The professional "not my circus, not my monkeys".

While I agree with the working hard part, being a private company, we just don’t get most of those gov’ment “holidays” off, and I’m actually good with that. Today was a very productive day for me at the office…!!! :)
Yeah, government doesn’t get those, either. Local government, anyway. People tend to assume village hall is closed, which makes it a relatively quiet day for dh.
