Avengers actor Jeremy Renner is in critical but stable condition from a snow plowing incident in Nevada. Prayers🙏
Had read about this yesterday, had no idea it was critical stuff o_O

I wonder what happened.. did he fell on ice? or something worse like actually getting tuck IN the plow machine?

Panama Canal 2022 Trip Report P9

As we kept driving towards the old town. The traffic kept getting worse and worse until we were barely moving.
Getting to downtown took almost 1 hour and it was less than 2Km of distance.

The architecture was very nice, also was wallet very similar to Puerto Rico but in an smaller way.

This is when we started to get annoyed.

We got down, the van parked and then the guide moved us.. wait for it..
to a jewerly shop that sells Colombian Emeralds.
Supposedly to know the history as Colombia provides almost 80% of all global supply of Emeralds.

So we entered and the person inside told the story, how to see the quality, etc..etc..
And of course, offered to sell with "discount".
My mother sadly took the bait and ended buying.
We wasted almost 1 hour there.

By the time we were out. Strike #2 happened. The tour driver wanted to deliver us to the cruise asap. ( Our cruise did not leave until 4 hours later). We suspected he had another tour lined up and wanted to save time.

Aka the ?Tour dude wanted to skip the part of the downtown.
My mother was having noone of it. Neither I.

He ended yielding and we end doing a very quick walking tour of downtown, including the church.

And then we finally saw what a cousin of mine mentioned (who is now studying in Cartagena) about the vendors.

They are very pushy in an unconventional part to try to force you to buy.
Aka they push the product then as soon you touch it, they will refuse to take it back and depending how scummy the vendor is.. will declare it "sold".

And boy.. where they insistent?

One followed us for 3 blocks! Specially trying to focus on my sister.

As you see, everything was packed with cars.
I'm surprised they haven't completely blocked the traffic to general cars.

Sadly, the cathedral was closed because some sort of event. So we only took photos of outside and went towards the famous clock plaza.

The whole place was packed and even more as we left. There was a convention nearby.

And with that, the tour driver picked us up and went back to the cruise terminal.

Now, we were asking were to buy gifts.. but the tour operator refused to budge.
So they left in the terminal.
Luckily the small plaza in the cruise terminal had plenty of stuff to see.
A large gift shop, the logo of Cartagena in big letters for photos.
and tons of birds, restaurants, etc..

We returned and boarded to have lunch and take a small nap.

The cruise ship ironically also left Cartagena quite late.
We were supposed to leave port at 5PM. We ended leaving almost at 10pm.

You can see the departure video here:

I'm a bit surprised this is the day for National Cream Puff Day. I am going by when I think Cream Puffs, the Wisconsin State Fair comes to mind although I do have the mini version of them on Christmas eve. It has to be due to rest of the world for the national day.

Wisconsin state fair is well known for its Cream puffs and sells over 400,000 of them in 11 days of the fair. I also been told in the past that my dad surprised mom with a cream puff in the hospital when I was a baby since I was born late. The fair was happening and mom couldn't go to the fair since I was supposed to be born at any time, and dad wanted to bring something from the fair to mom.
