Went to see Avatar. It was an odd experience.

First of all, my first time in a movie theatre since Star Wars in 2019. Apparently you had to choose seats even though the theatre was half full. Some bimbo got an usher because we were in her seat even though there was plenty of others. In the end the new seat was better for me because I didn't like how the first one reclined too much and this one was more like a regular seat while my friend thought the opposite. Because had I stayed in the first seat, I would have fell asleep in the first half of the movie. Much like the Titanic, it picked up at the end.

For all the money and time they put into it, not the most visually stunning movie out there. Once again, showcases humans being stupid which ironically we don't learn in real life.
That's how it works. If you were in my seat and refused to move even after I showed you where you were supposed to be (which is how I usually handle it and absolutely no one makes a fuss) I would also call over an usher. It's the same as if you were in an airplane with assigned seating; you have to sit there even if other seats are empty.

Wow, Cesar -- you always visit such fascinating places, and it's great that you share your photos and experiences with us. All of it is interesting, and I think my favorite photo of this group was the interior photo of the altar -- so ornate.
Thanks!
Ironically while I travel a lot, I usually keep traveling to the same areas over and over.

This was the first time we got way far from our zone of comfort. And a first to see the islands and Panama.

I think the other "far away" trip was when we went to the Oasis to visit Puerto Rico via Fort Lauderdale.
And I think that was almost 10 years ago.

As for the altar, eyup. Latin America do have such beautiful churches.

Ohh I hate when transformers blow. It sounds like a very loud gunshot near you. The last one that blew across the street from us made me jump big time.
Glad you got the power back on!
Don't forget the fireworks x_X

When they fail, they fail spectacularly.. at least here.

This!

I reserve the seats because I want them.

No one refused to move so I don't know what your talking about.

So, is a relatable movie?

I mean, showcases human stupidity which we have to suffer every day in our lives XD
Yup. And quite frankly, most science fiction is that way. Humans act pretty stupid, even like in Star Trek, when they wise up, they act stupid before they get there. Which is fine if that's not your cup of tea...but that's pretty much how it works in every science fiction book, movie, show these days. Unless you want to go back to the 1950s and watch movies about moon people and space spiders. 🤣

Yah, most of the theaters in our area are also reserved seating. No interest in them at this point -- last time I was in one of those theaters was probably 6-8 years ago. Big screens are nice and all, but I'd rather watch a movie at home.

Hearing mixed reviews about the new Avatar film. I did see the first one a long time ago, and it was okay, but nothing I'd watch a second time.
Yep, stomached that flick on cable once all the way through, just to make sure I’d seen it to comment. Never again.

Yea, didn’t hear a sound, as we’re at the opposite end of the street, and around a curve. Everything just went off.

Matthew wasn’t happy, at all.
Carolyn and I just sat in the quiet glow of a candle she lit, and the moon Emmy and Audrey gave me…just very peaceful…!!!

Had to Google, hope your foot feels better, soon…!!!

I hope your meds kick in soon. Do you know what's causing the issue as that doesn't sound fun at all. Good luck and

Tony, I hope your footie is feeling better this morning. 🤞
One doctor told me it was neuropathy, which makes no sense.

Everything that has triggered lower back pain/sciatica since an injury in 2005 triggers this.

It comes on faintly and if I take a pill at the slightest hint, that usually takes care of it. Before I drive anywhere, I take one, and then every 4 hours until I get home. Having it happen while out ranges from awkward to embarrassing.

There will be repeated sharp pains on the bottom of one foot or the other, which makes it seem almost itchy.

Heat on the back (not foot) helps, and the medication takes 20-30 minutes to work. Then I’m annoyed with myself for not having anticipated and taken it sooner. Rarely do I ever need it at home. I must have sat funny on the couch. Then I try to beat it without taking a pill until it gets worse and I’d drink lye at that point if you told me that would make it stop. It is unbearable while occurring.

Fortunately, it’s mostly manageable. Last night was weird.

We’re in medical limbo until B starts his new job on Jan 3.

On the note of cruising, I tried to watch the bravo tv show Below Deck after our 2017 Carnival Christmas cruise, because I was interested in seeing what a private cruise was like, even though there’s no way we’ll ever be able to afford one. But, it was just so much more crazy, stupid, scripted crap that I couldn’t last past about 2 episodes…morbid curiosity held me through that much of the BS…!!!!! :D :hilarious:

Yep, most of them looked more like actors than actual service providers.
And the drama was no different from other semi scripted crap like Pleasure Island and The Bachelor.
