Glad to hear your power came back on last night. Few years ago, we had the same thing -- a transformer blew (so half the street was connected to that one, and the other half was not). Our place was dark, and the house next to us had all their lights on. 🤵‍♀️ (By the way, when the transformer blew, it was LOUD! ) :p

One of the neighbors talked to the repairman, and (if I correctly understood this), the newer transformers were not the quality of the older ones. (Older ones were made with copper insulation and newer ones had a cheaper material.)

Thanks, Minnie…!!! :)
Although not sure, the quality aspect sounds pretty typical for too many things, these days.
They were placin’ the new one when I drove by. Hopefully, this one lasts a few years before crappin’ out again…!!! ;):)

Do you really wear your flip flops in 28 degree weather? ;)

Yes, my friend, as I first posted many years ago, I can go out in at least 28-ish-degree (or less, depending ;)) weather in only a T-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops to purchase beer, and have done similar many, many times since.
Only exposure to really cold weather is from our front door to my car, and my car to the corner store door…no problem…!!!!! 🍺 :hilarious:

Went to see Avatar. It was an odd experience.

First of all, my first time in a movie theatre since Star Wars in 2019. Apparently you had to choose seats even though the theatre was half full. Some bimbo got an usher because we were in her seat even though there was plenty of others. In the end the new seat was better for me because I didn't like how the first one reclined too much and this one was more like a regular seat while my friend thought the opposite. Because had I stayed in the first seat, I would have fell asleep in the first half of the movie. Much like the Titanic, it picked up at the end.

For all the money and time they put into it, not the most visually stunning movie out there. Once again, showcases humans being stupid which ironically we don't learn in real life.

Yah, most of the theaters in our area are also reserved seating. No interest in them at this point -- last time I was in one of those theaters was probably 6-8 years ago. Big screens are nice and all, but I'd rather watch a movie at home.

Hearing mixed reviews about the new Avatar film. I did see the first one a long time ago, and it was okay, but nothing I'd watch a second time.

Confirmed that a transformer blew. The neighbors, starting from about halfway down the street to the other end, heard it and came outside (sure, run towards the potential danger…!!!!! :D :hilarious:;):)).
We’re at the other end (dead end) of the street, so heard nothing from inside our house when it went.
Were without power for about 4hrs. and 40 mins. Never opened the fridge or freezer door, so should be good in that regard, as the temps in the house were also quite a bit cool.
And yes, it was all of our street, and about half of a connecting street, and no more.
When I went on my TSSFFBR, the clerk at the corner store said their power flickered a bit, but, that was it.
Such excitement…!!!!! :hilarious:
Ohh I hate when transformers blow. It sounds like a very loud gunshot near you. The last one that blew across the street from us made me jump big time.
Glad you got the power back on!
