You make it sound like using climate change is just a psychological "trick". It is a better way to say it but, like I said, what is happening is far more then just a warming. It also states, truthfully, that even though the actions of mankind have influenced it to some degree, the planet has had many climate changes that occurred well before mankind existed. Think about how at one point about a third of the North American continant was covered with glacers. At that point global warming might have sounded like a great idea. It was always cold out during that time. The earth naturally changes and even though it is probably true that our actions have, perhaps, been speeding things up a little, it is an absolutely natural event. Being such we either have to find a way to adjust to it or parish. It may be scarry but it is also factual and we also need to get our collective heads out of our butt and start to take positive action. The planet will be around a long time, it is human kind that will be gone. The earth is not in trouble, we are.

It was predicted years ago that we were going to see a return to a more wild side of weather due to natural cycles and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to have noticed that weather has been far more threatening then in the past. We cannot change the weather, we can only adapt to it and make it livable by adjusting ourselves to do what is needed to survive.
Not make it sound like you assume , it is a fact that an adviser ( Frank Luntz ) advised years ago to use the name climate change instead of global warming and reasons why.

Yes, I know, but the way you worded it makes it sound like it was just empty words. He perhaps recognised the real problem and labeled it in a way that is more correctly stating the situation. That is what I was saying. It wasn't just because it sounded better it just better described the reality then the lone use of "Global Warming".

Reminder to peeps who are up early today. The "Blood Moon eclipse" is supposed to be visible (EASTERN Time) from 5:16 AM - 5:59 AM approximately. Should be cool. Supposed to be red.

Unlike other eclipses, this one is SAFE on your eye to view without any filters, special glasses, etc. (I heard that fact mentioned on a few different programs I watched last night.)

Could have saw it but didn't see the post. Tells you how much I pay attention to the news.

Sure that happened. Yet don't you agree that the glaciers are melting because it is globally warming?
Didn't many of the posters on this thread have warmer weather than usual the last 7 weeks?
Is this an isolated thing or have we been moving in the "warmer" direction for years?
Yes we have.
🤔 How about we as a country be more flexible?
You call it climate change....I'll call it global warming.
No one is wrong. Either one is fine.
Just an idea.
My personal location next work week will have "normal" / appropriate Mid-November temperatures 20221108_112329.jpg

In that case you'll really enjoy Christmas and New Year Eve/Day as Santa is getting me a pasta roller:inlove: Santa says it's a house gift and not a me gift but we all know who is going to use it.
I'm planning on making tagliatelle with mushroom sauce for Christmas as the pasta course and lasagna for either NYE or NYD depending on dh's schedule
The Christmas and New Years menu isn't planned yet although don't expect something big for a Christmas meal on Christmas Day due to opening gifts late. My younger on Christmas day would end work anywhere from 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Younger brother is working in the hospital on Christmas Day, but has New Years off.

Mom did get something Christmas related already. Mom got an early Birthday gift from her hairdresser. She got a Mickey & Friends Christmas Led Shadow lights.
