It's a toss up who I despise the most. Zuckerburg or Musk. Or course there are others on that list too.
Like them or not , both are proven visionaries. Are they ruthless in their paths? Of course they are. One other was the late Steve Jobs , Iger's very good friend.

Zuckerberg I'm not quite sure why they're laying off people. A quick look at their financials showed that they made decent profits last year and their SG&A wasn't out of control, so I'm not sure why he's cutting all those employees.

Musk cutting those jobs...yeah. Twitter needed to figure out how to reduce their overhead because it was getting out of hand, but they're going to have a mess on their hands with cutting their workforce.

A more strategic way to do that (and what other companies have done successfully) is to go through department by department and reevaluate the structure of the departments and reassign of cut roles as needed. Dell did this successfully a couple of years ago when they were losing money; now they're profitable again, and they didn't get the bad press or the negative morale that Meta and Twitter most definitely will get.

As for the employees...I feel for them, but having been in this position, it should not take them long to find jobs. This happened to me back in 2019 when I got laid off as part of a corporate restructure. It sucked. But after taking a couple of months to get needed medical treatment, I started job hunting and had a job after about a month of hunting. Insanely quick turnaround. I literally put "my job was eliminated" in cover letters so that recruiters/employers would know why I was searching (the company I worked for is a Fortune 500 company). So when I got my current job, I just explained my position was eliminated and I couldn't find another one internally, and the fact that I had that particular company on my resume ended up looking really good.

I honestly know that neither Musk nor Zuckember are visionaries. They just are very good opportunists.
Like Edison, they are idea thiefs and then improve, patent and sell the improved version.

Zuckemberg got the whole idea from someone else and capitalized on it.
Musk? I haven't seen a single thing he claimed to build or invent by himself.

In the other hand, both are morons that demonstrate that "pulling yourself from the bootstraps " is a very silly concept.
Specially when Zucke just show cased how he can f.. up an idea and everyone else has to pay for the error. Not him.

I was going to sleep in for 2 more hours but woke up needing to add another layer of clothes and turn up the heat🥶🥶🥶🥶
That cold already? o_O

I wonder if we're get a bounce on everything.
Last year we had plenty of rain. We had pathetic amounts of rain this time despite the hurricane sideswiping us.
Now its been weeks with zero clouds.

Musk as advancing the development of renewable energy , ground breaking in electric car and battery , changing things for the better

Zuck built an online platform for people all over the world to connect with each other

Noone of these were directly influenced by Musk himself.
Electric cars already were in development. Batteries? Cellphones were pushing the development of batteries better.
There was a huge push of solar energy, Musk just capitalized in the government grants and push to develop.
Infact, most of Musk's battery technology already existed. Just not for cars.
Some of the famous cells used in their electric house ideas.. were taken from computer/server datacenter electric cells XD

Regarding your "changing things"...Changing things for the better? According to who?
He changes decisions as fast someone changes socks.
For example, he opened his mouth and uttered 4 idiotic decisions in a row in the first weeks after buying Twitter, just for him to do an instant 180 degrees later on. He contradicted himself many times and he did Uturns or blocked/banned people who showed him how bad his decisions were (like in twitter).
Also by firing a ton of Twitter staff, how he can keep his promise of "cleaning twitter of bots"?
The only thing he made of impact was:
  1. Destroying teams whose job was maintaining moderation and misinformation control.
  2. Charge people for having a confirmed mark. (Now anybody can have a confirmed mark if they pay, which will lead to massive misinformation, scams, etc..)
  3. Confirmed soft censorship by pushing paid accounts as top priority on user's feeds, including recommendations, sponsored content, etc..

To resume, he's very similar with Trump. Except while the big T was a fan of construction/property ownerships.
Musk is into technology.

Zuck's stole the idea of this anyway. Also he didn't build it to help people.. he sells your information (and has been caught doing it so blatantly that regulators hit him with huge fines a few times already).
As for META? it already existed.. he just wanted the ego boost for making it big with his platform.
SecondLife for example.. was ages before META and it still looks better than the META platform XD
