Exactly!!! :jawdrop:

I drive like a turtle normally, put me in snow or ice and I tend to tootle on down the road. The thing people never think about is 4x4 works well in snow, it really does. 4x4 does little on ice. I loved the IDOT plows coming back from my DD graduation in Central IL. It was snowing hard and three plows entered the highway and on angle where nobody could pass they were in both lanes and a third between the two lanes, plowing and dumping loads of salt going about 30 mph. Best thing ever. Slowed everyone down.

Just back from HDDR. Fabulous show. I've seen it twice before, but they somehow manage to keep it fresh. The insertion of "Do you want to be a snowman ... It doesn't have to be a snowman ... Okay bye" had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe! Even Hubby was laughing really hard.

First meal this trip where I have majorly over-eaten. Oh my gosh, I am stuffed.

My son is salivating looking at these pictures.

I visit three Disney sites regularly. This one (obvi!), OTPN, and Josh.
I have seen literally hundreds of DTD construction photos.
They do it no justice.

Words cannot describe the mess that place is. Walls, walls everywhere !!
Tons of workers, construction machinery, jackhammers, tiny little walkways ....

And did I mention walls ... everywhere?!

Looks likes it's going to be pretty awesome when it's done though.
All parks are having heavy construction.. DHS will probably be the same in the next year as well.

We will be here to give you some cheer and moral support.
Id prefer if someone could just punch the bank top managers ( for making it so hard to get help as someone with hearing problems).
There is a lady in the bank that helps me the best she can. But she can do so much until the classic "security" wall blocks her help.

Also, in something completely different.
For those who wonder what my avatar means..
it says "You must be new here" in spanish (aka an internet meme)

nope, they need to be by me from me and only me. For security purposes and other ****.
If I'm lucky, I will find a good signal with a patient serviceman from the bank.
I had luck a few times, but not the majority.

I'm not familiar with the Mexican telephone service, but up here in States, we have "Relay Operators" who transmit the conversation back and forth between the deaf caller and person that is on the other end of the call. I hope that service, or something similar, is available to you in Mexico as well.

Thank you for the update on DTD. This really does sound like a major overhaul. I try to keep up a bit in N&R with the goings on about various rehabs, but I miss a lot of the details. The picture you painted here basically tells us that it is a big construction zone at present.

Ditto!

I love the Safari and Everest too along with Dinosaurs however after that and some ribs I'm out and those three attractions are so far from each other. With FP's we usually throw in Bug to kill some time. It just isn't a complete park for me, not even a work in progress 'cause there hasn't been much progress over the years it has been open.
Now DHS is the same way, explains why so many trip reports have guests splitting some time off for the Uni parks.

Yah, I know a number of people who don't spend a day there.

As usual (not to disappoint any of you . . . ;) ) I'm the odd person out here. I absolutely love AK, and really enjoy poobering around, checking out all the neat details around each corner, reading any of the descriptive information about specific animals, etc. My only complaint is that when it's hot, it's even hotter in that park; and I've had to depart after a morning (on a few occasions) because the humidity from all the foliage is enough to make me pass out. On those occasions during a heat wave, I'll spend 1/2 day, and then the next day, I'll spend 1/2 day: hence, a whole day for AK, broken down into two visits. (Gosh, I'm clever that way . . . MinnieM123 gets what she wants, and doesn't stand for anything less . . . :p :hilarious: :joyfull: )

Yummy comfort food! Glad you enjoyed your meal. Since Tammy was with you, I assume she was almost back to eating normally now? I hope she's feeling better. :)

@MOXOMUMD , you recently mentioned that you and your daughter were starting your baking. Does this mean that you are already starting holiday cookies, etc., and freeze them until the holidays?

:) Oh, just passing this thought along to everyone here -- Saturday, Nov. 29th, is Small Business Saturday.

If possible, please try to remember the wonderful, small businesses in your own community that might be a source for some of your holiday gift shopping. They can't compete with the bigger stores, but they often do have unique merchandise you may not find in a shopping mall. Keeping some of your business in your local community is a win-win for everyone.

Not to ruin your track record, but you're not the odd person out in this case! We love AK, too. We're staying at AKL in Dec., and we couldn't be more excited to make this an AK "heavy" trip. We're staying for 6 nights, which is a short trip for us. We have our arrival day and one other day blocked out for AK. (We typically only plan one day in AK and stay 8-10 nights.)

I planned for an early TH breakfast - prepark hours to see if we can get some great pictures. Although I've been debating this. It's probably too late to change the time at this point, but what do you guys thinks? Is it too early to get there for an 8:00 ADR? Is it worth it?

We love Flights of Wonder and all the walking trails. My DS really got into the sticker trail book thing and wants to earn more stickers. Hope they're still doing that - as it was fantastically educational.

I guess I love AK because I can let my animal science nerd flag fly AND its disney. Double win!!

Yeah, I'm not amused.

OK, I've gotta ask. What do you do with your tractor in the frozen tundra?

I have a bucket on it, so in the winter I use it to plow the driveway and make a path around the barn to the pasture so I can put out round bales for the horses. It works better than a snow plow blade because I can lift the snow and move it later in the season.

My guess is DHS is going to be under heavy construction for more than a year. So much of this was rumored for almost 2 years, closures of many were to be originally January 2014 and pulled at the last minute much like the Imagination pavilion. Hopefully they've ordered everything they need, had the subcontractors doing all the off sight fabrication and they are completely prepared to hit the ground running. *pipe dreams*
