I just saw the forecast this morning. Now "winter weather is a month ahead of schedule" and we could see 4-8" on snow starting Sunday night. Guess I have to put the chains on the tractor tomorrow. Wow, did they miss the mark on the November forecast!!! Now, I think a WDW trip is definitely in order. I just love Christmas time at the World!!!

Yeah, I'm not amused.

OK, I've gotta ask. What do you do with your tractor in the frozen tundra?

Ack. I don't remember where I left off.

Went to 2 craft shows, went to two craft shows, then to my favorite grocery store in route to my folks, stopped at Jason's Deli for lunch. Arrived at my Mom's house, sis in town to celebrate her and my Dads B-Days (October a bit late.) Went to a steak house for dinner, twin fillets and all the fixings. Yum. Good long day.

Reminds me of the early 19th century signs in shop windows, that greeted immigrants off the ships in the Northeast: "No (Irish, Italian, German, etc.) Need Apply" . . .

My Gran and Grandfather immigrated after WW1 separately and met here. As the years went on it got better but not early on. The neighborhoods in Chicago were pretty divided by country of origin. Gran endured a lot as a very young adult here. Grandfather apparently did better working constructing railroads however he was dead long before I was born around 55 of age.

I visit three Disney sites regularly. This one (obvi!), OTPN, and Josh.
I have seen literally hundreds of DTD construction photos.
They do it no justice.

Words cannot describe the mess that place is. Walls, walls everywhere !!
Tons of workers, construction machinery, jackhammers, tiny little walkways ....

And did I mention walls ... everywhere?!

Looks likes it's going to be pretty awesome when it's done though.

I take my Chloe with me to church every Sunday. She sits there in the pew and doesn't make a sound. During the greetings she scoots down to the end of the pew and everyone pets her and says hello as they go by. She gets so much attention.
-T
Awe I wish my town was pet friendly. What type of Pup is Chloe?
Up early and off to DAK today - epic fail.
Hubby is still sound asleep.

Hopefully we can be out of here by 10:00.

Yep, that is our boys too. We now just leave them. They catch up. This spring DD and I didn't have any issues getting going.
Yuummm, beignets and coffee..... :hungry:
I use to love FQ Beigets and then my DD and I went on a college visit to Tulane in NOLA and had them. OMG were they divine.

Thats exactly what I fear. because.. believe it or not.. We're having better internet service in Mexico than in the US now.

100 Mbps/10Mbps line with no throttle or limits, 99 USd a month.
and I keep hearing nightmares of 5Mbps ADSL lines with limits in the US for 50 USD.
ATT/Uverse is in trouble for slowing down stuff right now. There is a lawsuit pending. Joy Joy

And yes, we put plenty of fireplaces in homes we design down here. We have occasional sleet, ice, and snow, so it gets cool enough to light a fireplace or two, to help keep a house warm, without having to turn the heater/furnace on as much. And, who doesn't love a warm fire in the fireplace on a cold winters night...?! :)

We don't have a fireplace in this house and I'm OK with that. We had one in our last home and I liked it but I hated cleaning it so I rarely used it. If I had one it would have to be a gas one.

It is horrific isn't it. I felt the same way at the Poly and around the Castle this trip too. DTD was worse cause ya just can't get away from it at all.

Haha. If a plan a trip with a half day at DAK, I never make it. If I plan a trip with two half days there, I only make 1.

We hit AK twice this trip. First one we were out in under 3 hours and that included a sit down meal at Yak. The second on was when the rain ended and we moved from DHS to AK. We walked onto every attraction and rode the Safari twice. Plus had dinner at Flame. We closed the park, we were there for almost 3 hours and it was getting dark when we left so the lights were on. Great photo's. I had done a late night at AK in 2007. We did more walking around than anything because it night and that park is really pretty with the lighting nobody generally gets to see.

Just back from HDDR. Fabulous show. I've seen it twice before, but they somehow manage to keep it fresh. The insertion of "Do you want to be a snowman ... It doesn't have to be a snowman ... Okay bye" had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe! Even Hubby was laughing really hard.

First meal this trip where I have majorly over-eaten. Oh my gosh, I am stuffed.

And the pics:

We're actually attempting to start a fire in our fireplace after not having done one in about 12 years!! Just never think to use it.

I think hubby knows that I've reached my breaking point with the cold, and if he doesn't figure out some warmth, I may be heading south with or without him! ;). (I would need some of that paycheck though...)

Though we only went for a little less than 2 weeks DD and I bolted last spring just because of the horrid winter. About Midway through March we had hit our breaking point and were down in WDW within 2 or 3 weeks. It was like 30 degrees here, we got in a taxi at 3am in shorts and our Northface coats. Off the plane before 930am in high 70's.
DME was a lovely trip looking at everything green. Hit Epcot first and drooled over F&G flowers and hopped over to MK for EMHs, which didn't last long cause we were up 22 hours before our heads hit our pillows.

I would never miss going to Animal Kingdom.

I could. My DH outright refuses to go, he had heat stroke in that park one year early on before anything beyond a couple attractions had A/C. He's done.

In other days, having a miserable day of bad luck.
So many things went wrong today.

The most worrysome is my main debit card nip disappearing, and my "encrypted" password card for some of my credit cards, disappearing from my wallet.

I might need to change some of my passwords in the future :(

I can't begin to 'like' that post but {{{HUGS}}}

My weather currently in Chicago is 42! Wish I was back at the happiest place on Earth!

Yep and the wind made it feel worse than 42 but at least the sun came out. Tomorrow seems to be the day I'm going to have to spend the day outdoors and get everything battened down and stored. Northern IL doesn't look good for the next week.

I keep thinking about the Pirates thing... Why would they close it after such a short run, unless they are definitely (finally) moving forward with some new construction? Fingers crossed!! :)

They had tons of operational issues, it was not popular what so ever and it is likely a better use of space in the new development.

1950's ??? Thinking the majority of the people from the 1950's are still around with one in their pockets too. ;)

When he opened the flue (I didn't know how to spell that - thanks @StarWarsGirl95 ) a few dozen dead beetles and flies fell down. Pretty nasty. (Although not as nasty as it could have been, since DH was explaining what a flue is to DS and told him to stick his head in and watch as he opened. Being the over protective (aka smart) mom that I am, I vetoed that genius idea.)

So... it's be going since about 1 EST and no signs of trouble yet. Do you think I should still keep a look out for any fireplace mishaps?

OMG that post made me laugh so hard I disturbed Walter from his sound sleep.

Oh good lord . . . my heart just skipped a beat, looking at his plane--and wondering what they will do with it??
:in pain: :cautious:

Ditto!

Neither would i !!! I love animals, and I love the atmosphere there. Last May, when I was on Killimanjaro Safaris, the lion roared for us! I've been on that ride many times and never heard the lion roar. It was cool.

They also have one of my favorite roller coasters, too! (It's still awesome even with a broken Yeti . . .) :p
I love the Safari and Everest too along with Dinosaurs however after that and some ribs I'm out and those three attractions are so far from each other. With FP's we usually throw in Bug to kill some time. It just isn't a complete park for me, not even a work in progress 'cause there hasn't been much progress over the years it has been open.
Now DHS is the same way, explains why so many trip reports have guests splitting some time off for the Uni parks.

Yep, the last time we had any appreciable ice/snow 'round these parts, I couldn't believe how many stuck SUV's I puttered past in my lil' ol' Lilly Dimples. :)
Slippery, is slippery. :geek:

What lots of peeps fail to realize when they are ordering SUVs they all don't come with 4x4 and then wonder why they are sucidoodles in the snow. 4x4 doesn't come cheap as an add on and the trucks and SUVs that they come standard in are more pricey, so they go to a different model. I'd risk it in Texas, here not so much.

Last winter we had a good chunk of new snow every 3 days. It was pretty rare when I was the one driving my SUV, it was normally my DD going to work, plus I didn't really want to be out in it anyhow. Last year DH moved from the towncar to a SUV too. In her younger days the towncar handled pretty well in the snow, later years not so much. But dang during good weather that car was so comfy to ride in.
