holy crap, talk about misreading.. yeah.. 600$ is quite a bit.
Still cheaper than an hotel for that many rooms.

Yep, definitely way less expensive than a hotel with this much space and amenities. Along with the huge living/dining/kitchen at the back of the house on the view, there are 4 bedrooms total. The bunk room sleeps 4 adults (or 8 smaller children).
Every bedroom has an en suite bath.
Also, there’s a powder room off the foyer/gallery, and a decent-sized utility closet.
Definitely a sweet/suite retreat…!!! ;):)

Work so yeah.. no XD

Work idiocy of the day:
Boss has changed services of companies 3 times in a row. He expects ALL services to be filled and ready (as in complete rework).
Which is stupid, because he announced he will move to another service next week.
So why do we fill these pages if we're going to have to redo everything next week?
Why even set up the domains and url redirects?
ITS STUPID AND WASTE OF TIME!

I'm back....did you all miss me?! I have a week and a half to get through before my 4 day vacation dog sitting for my cousins, lol. I'm also here to disappoint @StarWarsGirl cause work almost gave me an order pickup shift where I'd have to take orders out to their cars last weekend and I instantly gave that shift up, no bueno lmao.
I wasn't here anyway, but I'd enjoy your suffering...

Really enjoying all the vacation photos -- very cool picture of (your son, I think) with all the active gulls at oceanside. Still can't believe what a great deal you got on the house rental -- and nice pool, too!

From the various pictures, the area reminds me of Florida. What a beautiful sandy beach, and not crowded either!

Sorry, Minnie, somehow I missed your post…!!!!!🤪:hilarious:

Thanks very much, Minnie…!!! :)
Yes, that’s Matthew. He was feedin’ the gulls parts of his ham, turkey, and cheese sandwich (on multi-grain bread :D), so we asked him to move away from the SUVs before the bird bombs started droppin’ on all of us…!!!!! 🤣
And, yes, a great deal for all that’s here, for right at about $380 a night.

Also, this part of the Houston area is indeed much like Central Florida. Flat, swampy, pine trees, etc.
Below is a closer shot of the tall pines across the river, plus 3 shots to show where we are, where we are in relation to Houston and Jamaica Beach on Galveston Island, and where we are in relation to Austin…!!! :)

Those drinks are never for drinking, just to appear in some random newspaper to claim "most expensive bullcrap".
Reminds me of these dishes with edible gold and other idiocy.

But still 500$ for a 2-3 star hotel?
The Dolphin will continue to be the most decent option iI guess XD
Beach Club is a 4 star hotel, my friend...

Wait, Beach is the DELUXE one?
Which one is the "Moderate"?
I got names crossed?

XD

Oh wait, this one is the one next to EPCOT.
I think the one I had in mind was the Caribbean one :hilarious:

It's okay. And yes, Beach has a hefty price tag, but it and AKL are probably the two WDW resorts where you can go and just stay at the resort without even going into the parks. I'm staying there in September and I might hang out at the pool after work a couple of nights rather than going to the parks. Beach Club is probably my favorite WDW resort. Although I do have a soft spot for Poly as well.

And, then came the tropical depression deluge…which is why we moved our Galveston beach day up to yesterday, that was originally planned for today…!!! :)
Well, it's good that an alternate beach day was available for your family. Incidentally, one thing I like when I go down (to the WDW area) is watching the big, afternoon rain storms, while sitting outside on my hotel balcony (there's an overhang, so I still stay relatively dry). Those storms always seem to be a lot more powerful down South (FL and TX, for example). Weather can be fun! :joyfull:

Welcome back, @Dead2009 . Curious -- what kind of dog does your cousin have? Dog sitting can be enjoyable. :)

I gotta say, we got stranded in Hawaii and the airline put us up in a "3 star hotel." After staying there, I have a new appreciation for Disney value resorts. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the beds were relatively comfortable. That's about all I can say for it. 🙄
