@Figgy1 , I saw a vegan chef on a show, and she cooked a veggie dish. (You would have liked it, but I didn't care for it because she dumped in some cauliflower. (Recipe would have been better with some burger in it, but since she was vegan, that wasn't going to happen. )
Anyway, she did have a good tip for people who shop at Farmer's Markets (when in season) on the weekend for veggies. Since produce is expensive (everywhere), she suggested that if you go to a F M, to shop at the end of the day. Reason is that the vendors have to package up their leftover veggies and haul them away. So, if you go toward the end, they'll be a lot more willing to cut you a deal if you buy veggies then. It saves them from hauling them away (and/or possibly discarding some).
