In today's local news: a man jumped a fence, broke into the city zoo (before zoo opened up for the day), and tried to gain entrance to the tiger's area. Security cameras caught the breach and police, and zoo workers rushed there and the guy ran off (apparently, his attempt to get in the tiger's area, had failed). Police brought him into custody.

This afternoon (sometime after his release today), a reporter asked him a few questions. The guy was ticked off because the zoo workers asked if he was crazy, by trying to brake into the tiger's area. He said, "No I'm not crazy. I just like tigers." :jawdrop: :p

Well...if he's not crazy, he's certainly stupid.

Funny story...my grandmother LOOOOOVED tigers. To the point where my aunt arranged to take her to a big cat refuge. Where she got to pet the tigers and feed one of them from a bottle. While she was feeding the tiger, a lion came over for his turn and was being "greedy and snippy". No lie - she smacked the lion on the freaking nose...and the lion's reaction looked like he had no idea what to make of it, lol. (The cats were in a cage and she was outside the cage.)

Methinks the guy in your story saw one too many big cat shows and assumed that the cats are "tame".

Stock car racing on TV is a bore and always has been. Being there in person is so different. Local NASCAR was always fun to watch and I'll tell you why. Those cars generated a thunderously loud noise that sent vibrations through the ground and air and into you body. Not only were you watching it, you were feeling it as well. One of are local tracks was named Thunder Road and that sums it up pretty well. I used to go to every local weekly race up until I was about 24 and after that they started closing down the tracks and I just lost interest.
It depends on the race track. I've been following CART/Indycar since the 1980s. I first got into NASCAR in 1993.

I've been to the Milwaukee Mile NASCAR races and 1 CART race there. What I mean by CART is the open wheel series that is now called Indycar. I've been Road America Practices for CART. Milwaukee Mile back in the day was great to see races at. I said back in the day because the race track for the most of the year is not used for races at all. It is not used by Indycar or NASCAR at all anymore.

What I can tell you is it is better seeing Road America in TV. The problem is you couldn't see the whole track and you basically need to bring a long a radio or something to the seating area. Road America is a 4 mile road course. That means if there is a crash or a caution, there is a good chance of not able to see it.
