I was greeted at the front desk with, “Would you like a Sangria?” And there’s a turntable in every room. What else is there to tell?


I got a deluxe room, which ended up being two adjoining rooms lol.

And I brought Huey.

It’s called Chateau Mar Golf Resort (golf?) in Lauderhill, FL. Just about 5 minutes from my bigger store. Oh, yes, I brought business cards. (Even on vacation, I’m all business.)

Except for all the memorabilia, the mid-century modern style (which is my favorite, right now) reminds me of the El Tropicano on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. It was completed in 1962 (the year I was born), and was the first hotel on the Riverwalk.
Celebrities like Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, etc., stayed at the “El Trop” back in the day.
It was “upgraded” over the years, but, about a decade ago, it was retro-upgraded.
Carolyn and I stayed there the weekend of our 27th anniversary, and it was really cool…!!!

I could see this series going through WW2 if not longer of course they'd have to lose some characters and bring new ones in but I'd like to see it show how the estates managed to survive into more modern times

Can't you just get a hold of the writers and ask them how they are all going to survive?

Julian Fellows seems to be rather tight lipped. Gotta keep the royalties coming in If the movies don't continue and he doesn't do another show IMHO he should write a novel or 4 continuing the story

I am not getting this weather, but its not going to be 20 degrees as a high tomorrow and Thursday. Tomorrow might be 18 as a high and 16 as a high on Thursday. There might be a small chance of Snow on Saturday.
