This is all so interesting. Thanks again for sharing! That I cannot tell you, except for reverse standings and climate change. I have noticed it here since I have lived both in the north and now in the south. The first year I moved here (almost 11 years ago) I arrived in April it was hot, I thought it was just me because I was used to cooler weather, but the temperatures were in the upper 90's. Later in the summer it was blistering. Temps in the 100's for days. Locals told me it was the norm for them. Since that time it has not hit 100 even once, that I can recall. That doesn't mean anyone gets frostbite, but it has remained cooler in the summer and more moderate in the winter. Schools once closed three or four times in the winter due mostly to freezing rain but the last two years not a single freezing rain event.
Now granted this isn't scientific it is merely observational but after almost 30 years of winter trips (in February) from Vermont to Florida the storms that hindered travel have diminish extensively. The snow fall has lessened in the north and the cold weather (in the 20's) here in the south has increased. In other words it is all pure guessing on my part, but it is because of changes, sometimes slight, that I have noticed after 63 years up north and another 10 plus down here. It is also important to remember that North Carolina is pretty much on the axis line between the north and the south and therefore harder to distinguish the changes. There is no need down here to run out and buy snowshoes just yet, but it just seems different in both places. I can remember weeks in the 1960's in Vermont when the temperatures dropped into the -30F for days. When was the last time that happened up there. Cold yes, but not freeze ones butt off cold like in the past. It just seem like both are in moderating mode and we don't have weather records that cover enough time to make a solid prediction. So, like I said, just speculation.
Stay safe and dry my friendOk, who has the boat?? I need to borrow it soon! We have had rain since Tuesday-really heavy today. So far, we have 5.36 and still raining.
Don’t know about the dry partStay safe and dry my friend
I think that's why it's more commonly called climate change rather than global warming. Just my 2 pence. That I cannot tell you, except for reverse standings and climate change. Yes, sir that was my point exactly. It is a far better description of what is happening then just GW. If we think that we can just shut our cars off or lower the AC that will stop global warming we are wrong. Global warming is just a part of the climate change situation. People seem to forget that it wasn't all that many years ago, when one considers the age of the planet, that half or more of the US was literally covered with a huge glacier(s). The only way that went away was to melt or to have it warming enough to make it disappear. Actually, I think if you were to look at the trending since that time, the globe has been warming all along, we just didn't notice it until now or perhaps we contributed to the quickening enough that we are now noticing it.I think that's why it's more commonly called climate change rather than global warming. Just my 2 pence.
I had that at a store when we visited our DD awhile back. They were giving away sample coffee to try to sell the Nespresso machine. A really, really good cup of coffee!! I have wondered about buying one.Let's see how these taste .

Decided to go for it. Trying the free samples whilst we wait for our first order.I had that at a store when we visited our DD awhile back. They were giving away sample coffee to try to sell the Nespresso machine. A really, really good cup of coffee!! I have wondered about buying one.
Let me know what you think.Decided to go for it. Trying the free samples whilst we wait for our first order.
Like both of these. So 100% so far. They are all black coffee so you need to add milk before brewing.Let me know what you think.
I thought that when I tasted it that it was the best cup of coffee I had ever had and I don’t like black coffee.Like both of these. So 100% so far. They are all black coffee so you need to add milk before brewing.
I read that those machines are very expensive. Never tried Nespresso, but I have Cuisinart and Keurig at home, and they both make good coffee. (I like the Cuisinart better, not just that it makes various sizes of pots and cups, but I think their machines make great coffee.) I use the Keurig for a quick cup of coffee (either Peets or Starbucks French Roast K-cups).I had that at a store when we visited our DD awhile back. I have a Keurig also. And yes the Nespresso is expensive. That’s why I have never splurged and bought oneI read that those machines are very expensive.
