Climate Change....Global Warming....whatever.
I think it is real and this is just another example.
Climate change is the real thing. Global warming is just part of it. I noticed things changing over 25 years ago. That was without anyone telling me. I noticed that even in Vermont there were no where near the number of extremely cold days as there had been when I was a teen or even when my kids were young.

Unfortunately, those with no idea about anything still call it Global warming and like those that can't stop calling DHS, Disney/MGM Studios because of the force of habit, the phrase just stays there. Climate change is a natural part of this planet. Whether or not we played a huge part in it is still up for debate. They only thing we might have done is speed it up, what is happening was going to anyway. What they need to do is stop trying to blame people for it and instead just tried to find a way to slow it down more might be happening to combat it.

Well thank you for responding. I know it is called Climate Change not global warming....but it is the warming that is making the polar ice caps recede. It is the warming that allows me to run my air conditioner here in NJ during October. Every day I go to work with no jacket and short sleeves. I kind of like the old incorrect phrase "Global Warming"...but I know it is incorrect.

OK, the short EPCOT Spaceship Earth nighttime show is definitely one of the best things I’ve seen them roll out for the 50th.
When I first saw the lights on SE after the first Harmonious showing, I thought “Dear Lord, now they’ve got Spaceship Earth lit up like a carnival ride…?!?!?!!!!!“, as the lights just looked white and were static.
This short show and the original score are really good, though…!!! :)

Back from Epcot, seems wifi issues were better today.
Still had some issues.

Also, christ.. Futureworld looks damn horrible with the darn constructions.. the back, center and left side of epcot is full of machines. Looks a.. ugly.. but yeah.
Managed to ride almost everything. Sis loved test track and Soarin'.
And yes, both the "amazing" rat and Frozen were "thats it?" for me and my sister.
I guess we got spoiled with flight of passage and rise of the resistance.

Harmonious was nice, but I concur with others, it felt lackluster in pyro.
The songs were questionable because they were all from Disney or pixar movies.. even if some of them did not even had anything to do with EPCOT at all.
The tech in the other hand.. look really good.
The bad? the giant black tacos and the knockoff stargate ring looks really awful during day.

Also found that unlike illuminations... you have to be either near American pavilion or the center of the lake on the other side to see the ring projections.
We watched from Japan and it was kinda hard to see everything.

tomorrow.. last day and magic kingdom!

Just watched another live stream of Harmonious on Resorttv1. Josh can praise it all day long, but, I definitely don’t agree.
First impression still stands. Weak. I could go to MK to hear all that same IP music.
Nothing to do with EPCOT Center, or the 50th, except loose tie-ins to some WS pavilions, and none whatsoever to some that don’t even exist (i.e. the only thing related to Africa is The Outpost, and Morocco has absolutely nothing to do with Aladdin…WTH…?!?!?!).
IP everywhere…

The trouble is that so many people cannot except Global Warming because they have been brain cramped into believing the narrative that it was a trick. Climate Change is easier to sell because it is more believable and doesn't blame humanity for it completely. I believe that Climate Change is a natural occurrence that is unstoppable and all we can do is not add to the process of speeding it up with our interference. Science tells us that the planet has cooled and heated a number of times during it's existence and we cannot stop it completely all we can really do is do what we can to slow it down so we can, as a humanity, try and find a way to adjust to it. We are not going to stop it, but all of us existing today, including our children and grandchildren and beyond will not be heavily affected for at least another century or more. I actually think that we are going to see a reversal of the zones before much of anything else. The south will get colder and the north will get warmer during that time. What happens after that I will not have the opportunity to be around to see.

I am really enjoying the dialogue so thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yet....why would the south get colder?

I'm not a scientist, but I know a lot of places that were previously really hot have seen more snow in the last few years because as the ice melts, the wind blows the cold air and creates colder temperatures in certain places. At least, that's the way I understand it, but again, science is my worst subject, so take it with a grain of salt. But just look at @donaldtoo 's weather report posts....not nearly as many triple digits this past year. And wasn't there a snow storm that covered up a bunch of solar panels so they were out of electricity for a few days?

That I cannot tell you, except for reverse standings and climate change. I have noticed it here since I have lived both in the north and now in the south. The first year I moved here (almost 11 years ago) I arrived in April it was hot, I thought it was just me because I was used to cooler weather, but the temperatures were in the upper 90's. Later in the summer it was blistering. Temps in the 100's for days. Locals told me it was the norm for them. Since that time it has not hit 100 even once, that I can recall. That doesn't mean anyone gets frostbite, but it has remained cooler in the summer and more moderate in the winter. Schools once closed three or four times in the winter due mostly to freezing rain but the last two years not a single freezing rain event.

Now granted this isn't scientific it is merely observational but after almost 30 years of winter trips (in February) from Vermont to Florida the storms that hindered travel have diminish extensively. The snow fall has lessened in the north and the cold weather (in the 20's) here in the south has increased. In other words it is all pure guessing on my part, but it is because of changes, sometimes slight, that I have noticed after 63 years up north and another 10 plus down here. It is also important to remember that North Carolina is pretty much on the axis line between the north and the south and therefore harder to distinguish the changes. There is no need down here to run out and buy snowshoes just yet, but it just seems different in both places. I can remember weeks in the 1960's in Vermont when the temperatures dropped into the -30F for days. When was the last time that happened up there. Cold yes, but not freeze ones butt off cold like in the past. It just seem like both are in moderating mode and we don't have weather records that cover enough time to make a solid prediction. So, like I said, just speculation.

If anyone is interested, the show is only about 3 mins. long, but, repeats about every 10 mins., ‘til official Park close…

YES!! When they want to do something really special like this, they can!! Renews my optimism in the creative show team -- IMO, they captured the (80s era) theme for EPCOT, in a subtle display of color hues and effects, along with appropriate music. ❤️

I am softening on my upset about what they have done to one of the most spectacular, iconic and unique structures that Spaceship Earth has been. I guess there isn't a lot of change to the outside appearance of the building except for those spotty acne blemishes they call "points of light". That said, however, the night show is quite nice and I'll even give it a creative nod. But all the light shows in the world do not erase the Taco Lagoon fiasco just a few hundred yards to the south. So beauty on one end of the park to something resembling a junk yard on the other end. Looks like a place where they store recycled steel instead of what was a beautiful, scenic lagoon surrounded by spectacular pavilions.
